📚 The Page Turners recently finished Glasgow Boys by Margaret McDonald, and it's fair to say this was a book that really made an impact on the group.

Members described it as emotional, thought-provoking and beautifully, almost poetically, written. It sparked plenty of discussion and clearly touched a few hearts too, with some members admitting they were in tears by the end. ❤️

It's always special when a book stays with you beyond the final page and gives us so much to talk about together.

🧶 Learning something new at Let's Get Crafting! 🧶

Over the past few weeks, our members have been busy learning how to crochet, with lots of concentration, perseverance, laughter and, of course, a few tangled bits of wool along the way! 😂🧶

A huge thank you to Sandra and Rachel, who have been patiently sharing their crochet skills and helping everyone get to grips with the basics. ❤️

It's been lovely watching everyone learn together, help each other out and see their creations begin to take shape — and it looks like some of our members are now well and truly hooked! 🪝😂

We can't wait to see what everyone creates next! ✨

The Page Turners have been out and about enjoying some fantastic author events recently! 📚✨

Some of our members visited Clydebank Library to hear Frances Crawford discuss her debut novel, A Bad, Bad Place. They found her so down to earth and loved hearing about her writing journey. They're especially looking forward to reading the book, with its Glasgow setting.

Another member went along to see Lisa Jewell discussing her new book, It Could of Been Her, and found it fascinating to hear how she comes up with the ideas behind her stories and characters.

It's wonderful to see our members embracing opportunities to meet authors and discover the stories behind the books. We have a feeling there'll be lots to chat about at our next Page Turners meeting as everyone shares their experiences!

Members of The Page Turners enjoyed a literary day out this week, taking a walk around Glasgow inspired by The Secrets of Blythswood Square by Sara Sheridan Writer . 📚🚶‍♀️

It was fascinating to visit some of the places featured in the novel and see how the story connects with the city itself.

To round off our outing, we visited The Last Bookstore – a unique bookshop-themed bar and restaurant, complete with shelves of books and its famous book tunnel. It was the perfect place to relax, chat about books, and enjoy spending time together. 📖✨

A lovely day of books, conversation, and friendship. We're already looking forward to our next literary adventure! ❤️

A huge thank you to National Lottery Awards for All for supporting The Page Turners 📚❤️

Thanks to this funding, we've been able to purchase a fantastic range of books for our members to enjoy, helping us discover new authors, explore different genres, and keep our discussions thriving.

It's wonderful to see so many new titles on our shelves and to know they'll provide months of reading, conversation, and enjoyment for our members.

We're incredibly grateful for this support and the difference it continues to make to our group.

Monday's discussion was full of theories, questions, and plenty of speculation, with everyone having their own ideas about where the story might be heading.

Another little update on our diamanté coaster project at Let's Get Crafting ✨💎

We thought we'd share a few more photos of everyone's beautiful work in progress. It's amazing to see how much the coasters have developed over the past few weeks, and how different each design has become.

There's been plenty of concentration, creativity, chatting and laughter along the way, and it's lovely to watch everyone's projects slowly come to life.

We're getting closer to the finished pieces now, and we can't wait to see them all completed and sparkling! ❤️☕

Our diamanté coaster projects at Let's Get Crafting are really starting to sparkle ✨💎

Over the past few weeks it's been wonderful to watch everyone's creations come to life, with each design reflecting its maker's own style and creativity.

As always, our sessions have been filled with crafting, chatting, laughter, and plenty of cups of tea ☕❤️

We've put together this little reel to share some of our progress so far. We're not quite finished yet, but we couldn't resist showing off some of the beautiful work taking shape. We can't wait to see all the finished coasters sparkling in the weeks ahead!
