Sabden Collective

Sabden Collective organises community events for all age groups in Sabden. https://rvarts.co.uk/sabden-collective/ However, we cannot do this alone!

We are always on the lookout for volunteers, if you would like to help out with our upcoming events, please get in touch! A small group of village people have come together with a common goal to improve community cohesion in our lovely village here in Sabden. Set up by an experienced community artist and also an experienced events organiser, as well as a passionate steering group who have various

skills, we hope we can work together to bring our community together through fun events for all to take part in and enjoy. Particularly after the isolating years of the pandemic, we feel that there is a huge need for people to get back together again, socialise, catch-up, have fun and build new friendships. We have a lot of new people in the village as well as lots of young families. We have many ideas of things we could do; things we have done in the past, as well as new exciting ideas. We need the help of all the community to support our vision and help us make our community a more fun, inclusive and creative place to live! Please contact us if you would like to volunteer to help out or have any ideas in terms of fundraising and events, or if you simply want to attend one of our meetings to see what we're up to!

Join Caroline & Sarah at the Pendle Witch for a quiz night that may contain scenes of confusion, questionable scoring, and very little professionalism.

£2 entry per person, with all proceeds going to Sabden Collective.

Bring your smartest mate. Or your funniest one. Both may be useful.

We’ve just finished trimming up for tomorrow’s VE Day Tea Dance!! 😃🇬🇧✨

Join us for an afternoon of patriotic singing and traditional dancing led by professional dancers! 🎼💃🕺

Enjoy afternoon tea, and feel free to bring your own alcoholic beverages if you’d like 🥂🍸

There will be a raffle to raise money for Sabden Collective’s Folklore Festival this summer!

🥳 VE Day Tea Dance! 💃 ❤️🤍💙

A fun, patriotic afternoon to celebrate VE Day!

📍 St Mary’s Church Hall
🗓️ Friday 8th May, 3pm–6pm

💃 Traditional dancing led by professional dancers – join in, or just soak up the atmosphere!
🎶 A lively singalong to classic wartime favourites
☕ Tea, coffee, scones and sandwiches available

🎟️ Tickets £5 – available from Margaret Parsons, or at the Pendle Witch
🥂 Bring your own alcoholic drinks
👗 Optional themed dress: red, white & blue, or wartime style

Then head back to The Pendle Witch at 7pm for a performance by Sabden Community Choir 🎶

North West Air Ambulance Charity Fashion Show

Huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along to the North West Air Ambulance Charity Fashion Show last Friday.

Together, we raised an amazing £2,666.72 for such a fantastic cause 🚁❤️

Special thanks to Jill Farnhill from Sabden and all the wonderful volunteers from her store who helped put on this fantastic event in our village. So many people worked incredibly hard behind the scenes to make the evening happen.

Thank you to Mark Woodward for presenting, to all the models who brought the show to life, and to the front of house staff who kept everything running smoothly. And of course, thank you to everyone who bought tickets, supported us on the night, and enjoyed a little (or a lot!) of clothes, Prosecco and wine! 🥂

We had an absolutely fabulous evening and are so grateful for the support. Thank you all 🙏

SAVE THE DATE for Sabden's Summer Folklore Festival 2026!

Our 2024 festival was fantastic – the sun shone, the village came alive, and it was a wonderful weekend full of community spirit.

We’re now busy planning this year’s festival, including a Disney-themed scarecrow trail and a variety of events across the village.

Expect a weekend filled with traditional community activities, live music, art, film, dance, storytelling, performances, workshops, family-friendly activities, plus stalls, food, and drink.

✨ Thirsty Thursday Quiz Night 🍻

Last night we held our very first Thirsty Thursday Quiz Night at the The Pendle Witch, brilliantly organised by Sarah and Caroline (some of you may know them as the former Pizza Girls! 🍕) - and what a fab night it was!

Great questions, plenty of laughs, and something for everyone. 🏆Congratulations to our very first quiz champions… “The S*x Postles”!👏

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported. All money raised goes into the Sabden Collective pot to help fund future community events. So you are not just quizzing, you are helping create something special for the village too❤️
