πŸ’§ Charity Spotlight #3 – Hydro Pool πŸ’™
We were incredibly proud to have supported Hydro Pool as part of our ongoing commitment to championing vital causes right here in our local community.

Hydro Pool provides life‑changing hydrotherapy sessions for children and adults with additional needs. Their warm‑water environment offers comfort, mobility support, and therapeutic benefits that make a real difference to families across our area. Every session they deliver helps someone move more freely, feel more confident, or simply experience a moment of relief β€” and that matters deeply to us. 🌊

We were delighted to welcome Malcolm Rudkin from Hydrotherapy Pool to our Presentation Evening, where we shared a meal together and presented them with a donation in recognition of the essential work they do.

As they explained on the night, demand for their service continues to grow, and maintaining such a specialised facility is incredibly costly. Donations like ours help ensure they can keep providing this much‑needed support to those who rely on it.

🚀 Cleethorpes Rotary Club β€” Visit to RNLI Cleethorpes Lifeboat Station | 27th May 2026 🚀

What a wonderful afternoon we had visiting our local RNLI Lifeboat Station on the Central Promenade here in Cleethorpes!

The station, sitting on the south bank of the River Humber estuary, has a rich history dating back to 1868, when the RNLI first stationed a lifeboat here. After a period of absence, the station was proudly re-established in 1987 and has been protecting our coastline ever since.

We were given a fantastic behind-the-scenes tour, getting up close to the station's D-class (IB1) Inshore lifeboat, James and Deanna Adams (D-889), which has been on station since 2024. We also had the exciting opportunity to see the new, larger B-class (Atlantic 85) Inshore lifeboat, currently used for training and due to enter full service in Autumn 2025 β€” a real treat!

Our host were incredibly knowledgeable, passionate and generous with their time, sharing everything from the crew's kit room to the remarkable equipment that keeps our communities safe at sea. A donation was also gratefully presented to the station on behalf of our club.

A huge thank you to our President Linda for organising it, such a memorable visit, and of course her warm words say it all:
Thanks for your delightful company β€” Pat and Byron, Graham and Christa, Ray and Jennifer, Sandra and Ged, Shola, Sandie, Paul, Isabel, Steven, Richard and Glenice, and Linda.

The RNLI is a charity that saves lives at sea β€” entirely funded by donations. If you'd like to support their incredible work, visit πŸ‘‰ www.rnli.org

πŸ¦” Charity Spotlight #2 – Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue 🌿

We are so proud to have donated to the incredible team at Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting vital causes right here in our local community.

Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue is a wholly volunteer-led organisation dedicated to the ethical rehabilitation of injured wildlife in our area. Every single person involved gives their time freely, and every penny they receive comes from the generosity of donors like us. They truly are unsung heroes for local wildlife. πŸ¦…πŸ¦Š

We were delighted to invite their volunteers to join us for a meal alongside other local causes, and to present them with this cheque in recognition of the extraordinary work they do.

As they shared themselves: it's been an exceptionally costly period, and donations like this have been a genuine lifeline. That means the world to us.

If you'd like to support Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue directly, every contribution β€” no matter how small β€” helps keep their vital service going. πŸ’š

This Weeks' Post - Supporting Adoption Matters

We are delighted to announce that the Rotary Club of Cleethorpes has donated to Adoption Matters, in support of their vital Post Adoption Support services.

Pictured here is Ann O'Neill from Adoption Matters, receiving the cheque alongside our President, Linda.

This donation holds a very special place in our hearts β€” for one of our own members, Adoption Matters played a deeply personal role, supporting them through the adoption journey and continuing to provide invaluable support beyond it. It is a reminder of just how life-changing the work of this incredible organisation truly is.

Post Adoption Support makes such a difference to families navigating the joys and challenges that come after adoption, and we are proud to play a small part in helping them continue that work.

If you'd like to find out more about Adoption Matters and the support they offer, please do look them up. πŸ’™ Adoption Matters

Presentation Evening 2026
Cleethorpes Rotary Club enjoyed a very pleasant Tuesday evening, when they presented the following groups and charities with money raised from their Christmas collections and various fundraising events throughout the year. They were Daubney Street Neighbourhood Watch group, Adoption Matters, Humberston Hydrotherapy Pool, Creative Starts, Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue, Andy's Mans club and
Cleethorpes Inner Wheel.
This is an evening when Rotary members see all their hard work of fundraising paying off and local groups and charities benefitting from what we do.

On Sunday, April 19th 2026 we accompanied some excellent competitors to the Disability Games in Hull. We had such a great day; this was inclusivity at it's very best. Everyone could have a go at everything; nothing was off limits.

We are so proud of our competitors and thank them for being fine representatives for Cleethorpes Rotary club. One of our team, Jimmy won the Endeavour award for his absolute commitment to joining in the Table Tennis final, even though he was exhausted after swimming, Weightlifting and Boccia. Nothing deterred him form taking part!

Thank you to all Rotarians far and wide for organising such a fantastic event.

Another Milestone Achieved
50,000 Books with the Rotary Club of Cleethorpes
Our partners at the Rotary Club of Cleethorpes are celebrating a
fantastic milestone, helping to distribute nearly 50,000
free books to children across Grimsby and Cleethorpes
through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
We’re incredibly grateful to the Rotary Club for their
continued commitment to families and early childhood literacy.
Partnerships like this are key to helping us
reach more children and move closer to our ambition
that every child in the UK can experience the joy of
receiving their own book each month.
