Grassroots community work isn't built on paperwork or official flags. It is built on how we treat one another day in and day out. 🤝
We believe that true safety means looking out for the most vulnerable among us. Right now, we know that many LGBTQIA+ people and individuals seeking asylum in our local area are feeling increasingly anxious and unsettled by shifting local narratives.
We want to make our position clear: we believe in a welcoming, compassionate North East Lincolnshire. Our particular mission is to run spaces and projects uniquely tailored to support biological women across the borough. But beyond our own walls, we stand shoulder to shoulder with the wider community in affirming that everyone, regardless of who they love or where they fled from, deserves to live with safety, dignity, and peace. 🕊️
It is worth remembering that real community safety and support aren't defined by flags, symbols, leaflets, or official headlines. Shifting policies are often just performative. They might change what is on display in public buildings, but they do not change the actual heartbeat of our town. And they never will.
