CMC Greens U7s v Whitehaven Amatuers Blue U7s down at the county ground this morning and what a good game it was.

Whitehaven coming out the fastest going 3 goals up but the greens got back into it scoring a couple of their own, in what would be the story of the game back and forth to the very end. Both sets of kids played some great football with kids always looking to play a pass or get a shot away if they could. The young celts would regret not converting a few more of what must of been 20+ shots hitting the bar and post 5 or 6 times in the process Whitehaven coming out on top of a very good game.

Opposition coaches player of the match was Rory again absoulte rock at the back, his tackling technique has come on so much these last few weeks and on top of that he is getting his head up and quickly playing the ball forward to get out attacks away. Also bagged a goal from the pen spot capping a great performance. Well done big man πŸ‘

Coaches player was Lennie, such a consistent player now, hardly every loses a duel and the amount of times a player looks through in behind 1 on 1 and lennie busts a gut to make a last ditch tackle is unreal. Always looking to pass to a team mate, and now added switching the play to his skill set which is great to see. A constant threat all day and scored some great goals too. Well done pal. πŸ‘

Onto the Aspatria Tournament next week for the greens. 🟒βšͺ️

CMC Greens U7 through at Workington Juniors tournament this morning on what was an unbelievably windy day that snapped our tent. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ But like all teams there the greens battled on and hit the ground running just like the previous days tournament and started getting points on the board. Playing some nice football, working hard for each other and the goals were flowing. Greens again got to the semi-final against seaton, were seaton took an early lead, but the greens got one back, and continued to throw everything at them and we couldnt score, then with the last kick of the game Seaton got a goal you would have to say was against the run of play, but thats football and well done to Seaton for holding in there. πŸ‘

We are super proud of all the players again today for battling hard, and trying thier best. They have all come a long way from them little 5 years olds who could hardly kick a ball, we are knocking at the door now- 4 semi-finals this year and more to come, we hope to break the curse. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Coaches player was Danny D, really good in nets again today, but his best games came out of nets when his work rate and much improved dribbling skills bagged him a few goals, was great to see. Well done pal.

Opposition coaches player was Grayson, he was back to running fast and being strong on the ball, always looked dangerous, made some great tackles as well when in defence. Scored some absolute worldies too. Well done mate.

πŸ†πŸ€ U15s Presentation Night 2026πŸ€πŸ†

A fantastic evening celebrating the achievements, commitment, and hard work of our U15s squad throughout the season.

πŸ† Sportsman of the Year – Archie W & Jake H

This year's award was shared between Archie and Jake.

Archie has been ever-present this season, always available on matchdays and a regular at training. On top of his performances on the pitch, he brings plenty of character to the squad with his quick wit and positive personality around the team.

Jake's season was unfortunately interrupted by knee surgery in December, but his determination and commitment to return to fitness and get back playing were outstanding. A well-deserved recognition for his resilience and attitude.

πŸ† Most Improved Player – Kieran P

Kieran joined us from the Greens last summer and regularly featured at centre-back. When the team found itself needing a goalkeeper in January, Kieran stepped up without hesitation. He embraced the challenge, worked hard on his new role, and produced some excellent performances between the posts. πŸ‘

πŸ† Top Goalscorer – Xander D

Xander enjoyed a superb season leading the line, finding the net an incredible 23 times in just 17 games. His standout performance came against Cockermouth, where he scored an impressive six goals in a single match.

πŸ† Parents' Player of the Year – Ashton W

Ashton received 8 votes to claim the Parents' Player of the Year award. Producing some outstanding displays from left-back, he also contributed an impressive 15 goals in 19 games throughout the season.

πŸ† Players' Player of the Year – Ashton W & Riley T

This award was shared by Ashton and Riley, voted for by their teammates. Both players demonstrated a level of consistency, commitment, and maturity beyond their years throughout the campaign.

πŸ† Coaches' Player of the Year – Aidan S

Aidan was rewarded for an excellent season, scoring important goals and setting the standard with his attitude in training and on matchdays. His dedication, work ethic, and performances made him a worthy recipient of the Coaches' Player of the Year award.

Congratulations to all our award winners and to every player in the squad for their effort, development, and commitment throughout the season. We look forward to seeing what next season brings at U16! πŸ€βš½
