Our U14 girls play Moor Row @ 14:00hrs ko with the U6/7s walking out with them, the girls will be hoping to follow on from last weeks fantastic 4-1 win,
Then we have Liverpool v City on in the club afterwards 🍻🍻

CMC U8s Whites V Workington Junior Reds U8s.

Great game this morning down at cleator between these two teams. Both teams playing some good football, the game was fast, and played hard but in the right spirit with both sets of kids not wanting to take a backwards step. Both goal keepers made some great saves also.

It was the young Celts who got the better of it this time in a game where they fought for every 2nd ball, every loose ball and players tracking back and helping out when there was Danger. What impressed was the playing out from the back, they were calm and composed and many times the build up ended with a shot or a goal- one of them had 7 passes which at this age is unreal. Great to see the development in this team as the weeks go by. 👏👏

Opposition coaches player was Ashton- he was at his explosive best, wrecking havoc everytime he got the ball looked dangerous, dropping in for the ball, and rolling players to get in behind taking some great goals. But he was also willing to do the dirty work with tracking back and making tackles. Great performance 👏

Coaches player was Ezra he was unreal in nets. A real brave kid and you could see that today, made several top saves, and was fast out his area to sweep up any danger. His use of the ball was also fantastic. Also played really well out if goal with some great running, passing and didnt lose many duels. Class Ez 👏

Special mention to the rest who were also fantastic

Louis- Really solid performance, seeing his confidence grow each week, having the confidence to go past people, and get his passes away but also really solid in the tackle and didnt lose many all day, left it all out there.

Miller- Top game from Miller, stayed close to his man all morning and didnt give them much room to do anything, also after winning the duels it was nice to see him getting some passes away to get us on the front foot.

Freddie Whal- Really impressive from Freddie this morning, we seen him battling for a ball and getting a foot in, working hard and making some great tackles when his team were in danger. Also some strong running with the ball. Really good to see.

Sonny- Really solid performance. Dont think he lost a duel, playing most of his minute's at the back but how good he was both defensively and on the ball really gave his team a platform to build on. Great seeing him have the confidence to beat the 1st man and use his passing range to cause danger all morning.

Freddie Wil- Freddie played really well too. Playing in goal also made some fantastic saves and ball recoveries. What was impressive was playing out from the back using his good passing to beat the 1st line of thier press, helping get our attacks away. Played well out also, strong in the tackle and using his good feet to take people on.

Harry- Looking like his old self, quickly into challenges often winning the ball and quickly getting passes away to stretch the opposition. His reading of the game was on point also, having the courage to jump out of his position to make interceptions. Really good to see.

CMC U8 Greens v Workington Greys U8s

The greens where through at The Ranch to test our selves against a team a couple of bands above them.

The Greens come out the traps flying and went a couple of goals up, and then added another with Freddie D coming off the bench and literally his 1st touch hit one on the half volley from half way and beat the keeper. Greys played there part to in what was a physical game but it was good to see both sets of kids getting stuck in and lots of strong challenges going in, neither team willing to take a backward step but the greens kept going and working hard and didnt give up and any loose balls, played as a team in attack and defence, and got the better of it this time limiting Greys to very few clear chances, defending well and pressing the opposition and forcing lots of turnovers.

Super proud of the greens tonight, you can see the training coming out on the pitch and the message of "Dont stop running" there for all to see. Fantastic tonight.

All the team took home the coaches player for an unreal team performance 👏 💚👏💚

Rory- Solid again at the back, nothing much got by him, really strong running with the ball also, and played some nice passes to his attackers. Brave in goal also making some great recoveries. 👏

Eden- Another strong performance from her, notably in defence again where she is thriving alot of last ditch tackles and clearances when there was any sort of danger. 👏

Rogan- Best he has played, closing players down, making tackles, getting the ball taking a touch and playing throughballs for his team mates, staying up the pitch being a threat. 👏

Grayson- Another strong showing for Grayson, getting us up the field with his passing range, strong on the ball, and chased everything down, a few last man clearances to get rid of the danger. 👏

Brodie- Another confident outing, making tackles and interceptions, getting more and more confident on the ball, playing some nice passes also. Good in nets, sweeping up and balls into the box.

Lennie- Also strong all game, hardly lost a duel, was up and down the pitch all game. Made some great passes, and scored a couple of really tidy goals, dribbling was really good today also. 👏

Orla- Also full of energy, made a problem of her self all game, covered every blade of grass, made lots of tackles and was brave running with the ball. 👏

Danny D- Unreal in midfield again tonight, tackling hard and leading from the front, made some great carries with the ball and getting his head up to try and find team mates. Solid in nets as always too. 👏

Albie - Really good from him again tonight, made tackles, was chasing people down and when it got pysical he stood up for his team and didnt take a backward step. 👏

Freddie - 1st touch on the pitch a half volley from halfway in what was the goal of game, unreal. Then carried on with his energy pressing the opponent to make mistakes and made alot of tackles. He took the other trophy home for that goal. 👏

CMC Whites U8s v Cockermouth U9s

A fantastic performance against Cockermouth U9s 2nd team. Our Celtic U8s started brilliantly, putting together some fantastic passing moves, creating plenty of chances and finishing them off with some excellent goals.

Throughout the game, it was brilliant to see their determination in the tackle and their willingness to battle for every ball. Despite the 12 month age gap, they never let it bother them and showed great character, teamwork and resilience throughout 💪

As we moved into the second half, Cockermouth really started to push hard to get back into the game. They scored some well worked goals of their own and put our lads under plenty of pressure, forcing them to work incredibly hard and dig deep.

There were plenty of positives to take, along with some great learning opportunities for both teams. Another really good step in the lads development and a performance they can all be proud of. 👏

Opposition MOM - Sonny
A brilliant display on the ball, regularly beating his man, creating chances and taking his goals superbly. Some fantastic finishes!

Coaches MOM – Louis
Fantastic in the tackle, showing great determination and strength. His passing was excellent too, regularly picking out his man and linking up really well with the team going forward.

CMC Greens U8s v Whitehaven Amatuers Blues U8s this morning down at Cleator in what was very wet and Windy conditions but that didnt stop a great game of football being had.

Amatuers went a goal up early but the young Celts heads didnt drop and quickly got one back in what would be the theme in and end to end game. Both teams played some nice stuff and didnt let the conditions effect them. The young Greens really Impressed us today. We have one rule "Dont stop running" and none or them did, we seen some great team goals today, we seen a couple of really good solo goals, we even scored one from a corner, but the work rate was what got them to have the better of it today and it really was a great performance from the Greens. We are proud of them all.

Lennie P- Played in multiple positions acorss the game and was fantastic, none stop running and he tackled hard, was brave on the ball and made some great passes when his team was in space. Constant threat all game.

Orla C- none stop running for Orla too, made some great tackles, was also strong running with the ball, she was rewarded with a goal after attacking a corner and getting a flick right into the top corner. Brave on goal as always too.

Albie J -Brave in goal, made a couple of good saves and was really strong in the tackle, and made some great runs with the ball and his showing his passing side of his game which is great to see.

Rogan M- Been ill for a couple of weeks and maybe brought him back a game early but he wanted to be there, brought some good energy and forced mistakes before the rain and cold would eventually rule him out for the latter part of the game.

Rory M- Really solid performance again from Rory, dont think he got beat in a duel all game, but not o only that, he is getting his head up drawing the player on then playing a nice pass forward to get our attacks going. Great to see.

Danny D- Again played in multiple positions including GK and was class in all of them, notably CM where he snuffed out lots of attacks and got us back up the field with some strong running, also looking to pass alot more getting better as the weeks go by.

Freddie D- pressing the opponent really well, didnt stop running and made some good tackles that stopped the opponents from breaking away, ball just wouldnt fall to him when he was in some great positions. Played well between the sticks also.

Brodie T- Another game where we are seeing him more invloved when playing out, making tackles, blocks and made some great passes- Including a lovely through ball that lead to a goal which was brilliant. As always was brave in goal.

Grayson W- Looked like the Grayson we know. Was strong in the tackle and was using his speed and passing range to be a threat all game, another kid who played on multiple positions and played well and would he rewarded with a hat-trick that was much deserved after how he played.

Coaches player of the game was Eden, she had been asking the last couple of weeks to try defence, and wow she was brilliant, she didnt back out of 1 duel or tackle and using her much improved ball striking to clear any danger when she was the last defender. Again was brave in nets and gave us a performance that took the trophy home.

Well done Greens, we coaches and parents are proud of you all after that performance and effort this morning.

⚽️ U16s WCYL RESULT ⚽️

Celtic 6–0 Cockermouth Titans

Celtic continued their impressive start to the season with another strong performance against a hard-working Cockermouth Titans side.

They were given a lift before the game as injured striker Xander Dunn came along to cheer the lads on, everyone at the club is wishing Xander a speedy recovery 🍀

Celtic dominated possession in the early stages and came close to opening the scoring when Aidan Scott hit the post, before Logan Penn rattled the crossbar.

It was Logan who eventually broke the deadlock, getting on the end of a clever ball over the top from Ashton Rossi before calmly lifting a first-time effort over the goalkeeper to make it 1–0.

Just before half-time, it was Rossi who doubled Celtic’s lead with a fantastic long-range effort that found the corner of the net!

HT: Celtic 2–0 Cockermouth

The second half saw Celtic come out strongly and put the game beyond doubt. Luke Devlin grabbed two quick goals to make it 4–0 before Alfie Bennet found space from a corner and volleyed home to make it five.

With 10 minutes remaining, Tyler Knight completed the scoring with a superb strike from outside the box into the roof of the net.

A convincing performance and plenty of positives to take from the game as Celtic continue their strong start to the season.
