SAFSA The mission of S.A.F.S.A is to provide support and advice to families surviving abuse. We provide support and advice in person in the Tendring area.

The type of abuse can be emotional, physical or sexual abuse as well as discriminative. We offer one-to-one, real-time telephony and online help, support services and we aim to provide counselling services for families who are suffering from any form of social exclusion, abuse, neglect, and/or psychological difficulties and are in need of immediate emotional, moral and social support. Support groups in Essex!

TRAUMA

Thinking of the yesterdays,
As I hid from all the pain.
Remembering the moments,
That made me feel insane.

Thinking of the moments,
That hurt my body and my soul,
As I filled with deep regret,
That I'd never become whole.

Thinking of the wounds so deep,
Wondering if they'd ever heal,
And as those memories did creep,
I chose to numb and not to feel.

Thinking of the ones who hurt me,
When my heart was full of trust.
The ones who took my spirit from me,
All because of their disgust.
~
I want all of you to know,
You can never again hurt me.
I am the one that's in control,
Of all the precious parts of me.

I want all of you to know,
That for so long I was broken.
But I'll continue to grow,
As I speak the words unspoken.

LITTLE GIRL

I know you thought it was your fault,
I know you never understood,
All the times you felt uncomfortable,
In ways, you never should.

I know you were afraid to speak up,
To tell someone what was wrong.
Fear and embarrassment kept you stuck,
It's not that you weren't strong.

I know that you were innocent,
And at times you felt so sick.
Seeing the smile on his face,
Hoping it'd be over quick.

I know you felt all alone,
And wished someone had cared.
When outwardly your fear was shown,
And you felt no one was there.

I know that you need love,
And love, I promise you will get.
You will fly free like a dove,
Because it isn't over yet.
