Federal Heights Detective Conrad Venegas has been hospitalized with a serious medical issue causing pain and internal bleeding. Conrad will need several surgeries and faces a lengthy recovery to heal from the surgeries and the medical issues. Conrad is a 30 year veteran law enforcement officer who is married with two children. The Northern Colorado Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #3 Benevolent Fund is reaching out to request assistance in supporting one of our local First Responder Families.

Emily Barrett is currently a photo radar operator for Fort Collins Police Services. Before that, Emily served the Fort Collins Community as an Explorer Scout. Emily volunteered at community events, was a role player for scenarios and competed at national competitions representing FCPS. Emily did all of this while living with chronic pain, for the last seven years. Her condition has worsened to the point where she spends most days confined to bed, taking away her dream of going to college and the opportunity to do many of the things she once loved.

Recently, Emily’s family has discovered a treatment program that could potentially lessen her pain, improve her quality of life and give her the chance to start pursuing her dreams again. The costs associated with this treatment and the living expenses for her recovery are more than what Emily and her family can manage alone.


We are asking for our fraternal family to come together to support Emily and her family, to include her mother, Sarah Barrett, father Frank Barrett (Assistant Chief at FCPS) to access the care she needs. Any donation will make a meaningful difference in Emily’s treatment and recovery. If you are unable to donate, we are asking you to keep Emily in your thoughts as she continues to navigate this journey toward healing.

The Colorado Fraternal Order of Police has established the Colorado FOP Family Support Fund to assist the families affected by the tragic loss of members of the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office and their loved one.
