About Our Community Services:
Our vision is simple and achievable. Our objectives are pure, ethical and sustainable ensuring we only focus on providing the most vulnerable Londoners vital support where others have principally looked the other way. Basch Helps CIC will endeavour to serve vulnerable individuals and families by providing 2 core services that aims to boost the overall health and mental wellbeing of an individual regardless of their age, gender, sexuality or religious creed. AngelBox:

Our AngelBox is a comprehensive starter pack for newborns, with the sole purpose of keeping them warm, safe and nourished for the first couple of months after birth. Mothers will mutually benefit too from the complete peace of mind, the AngelBox will provide, leaving them to focus on maternal health and their mental well-being. Our specially trained staff members will hand deliver a rather ugly large re-usable plain box, that includes 70 essential or critical items for your baby from functional, safe and durable items of clothing, to supple soft baby bedding and bath wear, well-constructed baby aids and carefully selected organic foods and formula, changing mat, nappies and fragrant toiletries. For more information about AngelBox or if you reside in London and would like to apply for an AngelBox, please visit our official AngelBox page on https://baschhelps.org/angelbox

An incredibly tough 4th year for our community enterprise but we're still here 😊

In the last 230 applications we have received for an AngelBox only only 54% of the newborns have taken their MenB vaccine on time & 31% of applicants who have children over 1 years of age have not gone to their MMR appointment!

Your GP surgery will usually contact you about your child’s MenB & MMR vaccinations. This will usually be by letter, text, phone call or email.

It’s best to have the vaccinations on time, but your child can still have the MenB vaccine up to the age of 2.

Whilst the MMR vaccine is given from the age of 1 and a second dose just after they turn 3 years old.

You need to speak to your GP if you have not yet been contacted with regards to your newborns vaccines.

You can find out more information about booking a vaccination appoint on the NHS website

2 Vaccines, 5 Minutes of Time & A Lifetime of Protection.

If you, partner or children have not yet taken preventative measures which shield you from the Measles, Mumps & Rubella viruses, now’s the time to really consider getting your vaccination booked. If caught these diseases can easily spread amongst your family and friends causing outbreaks which can really hinder your quality of life and ability to look after your children particularly if your a vulnerable adult.

Luckily the NHS have deployed all their resources in London to get as many people in the local communities protected and safe but unfortunately people remain sceptical about the vaccines efficacy and therefore are ignoring the warnings. According to the latest statistics provided by the http://gov.uk website as of April 2024, 39.8% of of measles cases were in London (76 of 191).

Please consider these helpful links and we encourage you to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

For more information and guidance on everything MMR related, you can visit the official NHS website which has pages dedicated to everything Measles, Mumps & Rubella. https://nhs.uk/vaccinations/mmr-vaccine

We’ve launched a new and intuitive AI assistant named Angel.

Angel is our first shot at utilising the powers of artificial intelligence and our innovative new feature is still in beta mode which means she’s still learning the ropes of our community enterprise, what we offer and archiving all the local health and support services available in the boroughs of London that we currently serve and beyond.

The aim of our AI Assistant is to increase our availability and access to our community services especially to Londoners who have language barrier or accessibility issues which prevents them from seeking much needed support.

Our Health & Wellbeing Hub Relaunched

https://baschhelps.org/health-wellbeing-hub/

London is opening up once again, life is back to normal but a variety of diseases such as polio, measles even our arch enemy the coronavirus still has a devious hold on our communities spreading, mutating and causing serious ill-health.

Cases across London continue to rise and preventing the spread of disease, protecting your family and friends has never been more important. Moreover in the past year, through many partnership campaigns with the NHS NWL ICB, we learned that the vast majority of young parents, asylum seekers and those who struggle the most to integrate with society have found it difficult to understand or find the right information about all the wonderful NHS services available.

Therefore we decided to refresh our health & wellbeing hub to keep it relevant and more accessible than ever before with sections covering everything from MMR vaccinations to how to access the NHS cancer screening services if you have concerns about your health or need urgent care.

The new hub has been split into well planned sections which give detailed guidance and in some cases a breakdown of what to expect at every stage of the NHS service you intend to use.

We’ve also retrained our volunteers to better understand the local health services available to parents in the boroughs they deliver our community services, therefore if something catches your eye! Don’t be afraid to send us a confidential message on WhatsApp or ask a volunteer in-person if you need further information, assistance or signposting.

We’ve also introduced new sections such as MMR, Start for Life, Healthy Start and more services relevant to parenthood and baby care.

Lastly our community board will be more regularly updated with all the future community events and health bulletins as they come in.

You can also donate or pledge to our amazing community cause.

Aviva Employees to the rescue

As part of our first ever crowdfunding effort (check link below)

The
Aviva Community Fund and their wonderful employees jumped at the chance to help us clear our ever growing backlog of applications for our award winning emergency relief packages.

The funds have been used to stock up on vital baby essentials such as nappies and milk formula as part of our AngelBox community service.

The first of the Aviva funded emergency relief packages were delivered in the borough of Westminster in the hope that together, we have alleviated malnutrition and prevented ill-health by providing each newborn with a months supply of nappies and over 65 baby essentials chosen by the parents.

Without the generosity of the Aviva employees this simply wouldn't have been possible, the entire team would like to offer their gratitude & hope that you can continue the push to help us even further during these unprecedented times.

Thanks for believing in our community enterprise. ♥️

Together with the North West London NHS Trust, we will shortly be supporting a very important campaign which addresses the MMR vaccine. We want to reach out to as many parents as possible on their views on the MMR vaccination, if they as a parent and your children have taken the vaccination. If you yet haven’t we also would like your views on what is the cause, what are your concerns and if it’s a language barrier problem then we will happily support you by calling a dedicated team to book your appointment.
