The Egyptian Masonic Order UK of the Ancient Primitive Rite of Memphis-Misraim is an international mixed Order of Liberal Esoteric Freemasonry, based in the UK , offering legitimate and traditional Initiation into the Egyptian Rites of Memphis-Misraim - raising our Candidates through the Degrees of Apprentice, Companion (or Fellowcraft), Master Mason and beyond - making ordinary

people into Egyptian Masons. We also offer Affiliation for Master Masons from other Masonic Obediences ("Free Brethren"), should they choose to join us. All Members sign an NDA to protect the private transmissions of the Order and the identity of fellow Members. Take a look at our website at:

We are a new Order, in an ancient Tradition. We are based in the Zenith of London, UK. Once an applicant is accepted for Membership, they must endure the First Degree and become an Apprentice (EA). Study is through Order Handbooks, Lectures and Zoom sessions, but active Lodge work and participation is expected, to equip the Apprentice to become a better Egyptian Mason and a better person. The next Grade is that of Companion, or Fellowcraft (FC), where more inward instruction is given. Then, having earned their 'increase in wages', the Companion is then raised to the Sublime 3rd Degree of Master Mason (MM). Once the 3rd Degree of MM is reached, Members can apply for entrance into any of our other Appendant Bodies active under the Jurisdiction of the Sanctuary, working in both Traditional and Esoteric Rites. Lectures and discussions on Hermeticism, Egyptian traditions, esoteric philosophy, neo-Platonism, Qabalah, Gnosticism, classical occultism, theurgy, alchemy, astrology and metaphysics are actively encouraged. Although the Ancient and Primitive Rite of Memphis-Mizraim is the main Rite of our Order - in our Symbolic (or Blue Craft) Lodges from Degrees 1 to 3, and in our Sanctuary from the 4th Degree onwards - we also offer Initiation into a variety of other Traditional and Esoteric Rites, with various Inner Order transmissions which are sub rosa, strictly private, and available on invitation to Egyptian Masons attaining the Higher Degrees. Once initiated into the 3rd Degree of MM, EMO UK Master Masons have the option of receiving an EMO UK Charter to run a Triangle, Just Lodge or Regular Lodge in their own local area, depending on the number of Members. We are also committed to Esoteric Healing, the Rites of which many of our Grand Masters perform in closed Lodge on behalf of the public, the environment and the world's issues in general. Our Order has multiple lineages and lines of transmission, both Traditional and Esoteric (Masonic, Chivalric, Hermetic, Rosicrucian, Alchemical and Theurgical) - including lineages from Yarker, Papus (Gerard Encausse), Kloppel, Ambelain, and others. Our focus is strongly esoteric, occult and spiritual; many famous occultists of the past were members or affiliates of Egyptian Masonry. It may justifiably be described as one of the 'invisible traditions' behind western occultism. The Ancient and Primitive Rite of Memphis-Misraim will therefore be of especial interest to all those making a committed study of mystical, magical, esoteric and occult subjects of all kinds. We have a full Masonic Curriculum, with a Handbook, Lectures and Exercises for every Degree of the Rite. We have private sites for the Order, where our Members receive tutorials and have access to our curated Library and many unpublished articles on Egyptian Masonry and other related subjects. Application is open to all genders, ethnicities, orientations and faiths. We are a highly diverse and multi-national Order; we believe this to be a great strength, especially for the future of our world. All applicants must believe in a Divine Essence or Higher Intelligence; must be over the age of 21; must have no prior criminal convictions; must be of good character and firm commitment; must be politically moderate; must be ethnically, socially and religiously tolerant; must be able to afford the Dues, Fees and Membership expenses of the Order without detriment to themselves, their families or their businesses. Applicants require a Proposer and a Seconder, so must know or become acquainted with at least one current Member of the Order, or with their Interviewers. An up-to-date CRB check may be required. If a Mason from another Obedience, they must be in Good Standing and provide letters to support this. There is an interview process for all Applicants and acceptance cannot be guaranteed. The EMO UK is committed to the Great Work, and it is a daunting labour indeed!
Symbol, Key, Rite, Ritual, Form, Essence, Function and Effect. All of these must take up the attention of the Mason of Egypt; sometimes all at once. We are always seeking for the Depths of Meaning below the words, the movements, and the lines. Egyptian Masonry should come to life!
We therefore have no time to tolerate toxic group dynamics, egotism, oneupmanship, bad faith, or vain power plays. We loathe internal strife and intrigue, framed - usually because of gaslighting - as "healthy conflict" or "debate". The Narcissistic hijacking of meaning and terminology only wearies a Mason of Egypt. It never FOOLS them. Many come to the EMO UK who are tired of pretence.
Life is short, precious and full of deep potential for transformaiton, attainment and excellence. Therefore, we adhere to the advice of our Grand Master, given here, as a salutory reminder of the importance of valuing a good group of fellow seekers and brethren, should you have the star-blessed Fortunes to find one, and make a spiritual home therein.

IHY, the Noisemaker.
The Son of the Mother of Joys. The Boy with the Sistrum.
IHY is the youthful god of music, joy, and fertility, usually named as the Son of HERU and HWT-HRU, but sometimes even as a Son of NEITH, or SEKHMET, or ASET Herself.
Depicted as a Child with a necklace and a sistrum, both He and the rattling instrument of the Temples are known as the Calf of the Cow, which is the Sacred Image of HWT-HRU, the Goddess of Love and Pleasures. IHY is the focus of a Cult of Fertility, and is also the Bringer of Bread and Beer. Paradoxically, IHY is also the Maker of Coffins, and the Lord of the Book of the Dead, placing Him next to ANPU, in a concept similar to the medieval "Death and the Maiden", where the extremes of Life are shown as interwoven. IHY is associated, in a similar way to the Greek DIONYSOS, with the Sacred Mysteries bringing fertility and transformation which, in the case of IHY, were expressed as a Mystery Play of Thirteen Acts. The playful figure of IHY was venerated from the 4th Dynasty of Egypt all the way to the reign of the Roman Emperor Augustus.
In the EMO UK, we see IHY as the intimate companion of the Wandering Soul; acting as the archetypal Travel Buddy, His spontaneous joy, infectious wit, and partying spirit bring forth the wonder and mystery of Living Life, and often in the most unexpected places; IHY causes the most unprecedented and powerful changes to occur - usually when we are most in need of them, but least expect them!

In the EMO UK, we practise Egyptian Masonry.
The Egyptian Rite, in all of its various iterations, always has a combination of unique and inspirational factors.
It has the Stability of Masonry, with its dedication, to structure, geometry, order, process, and meritocratic progression.
It also carries the Light of Theurgy, reminding its Initiates to continue to develop a personal relationship with the Divine through the beauty of Ritual.
It maintains the practice of the Art and Science of Alchemy, enabling the Mason of Egypt to transmute any Base Substance into Living Gold, relative to its type and provenance, whether physical, practical, psychological or situational.
It also preserves the Wisdom of the Gnosis: the direct and intimate Knowledge of the +GAOTU+.
It is, therefore, not without cause that our Lodges of Egypt generate such potency, illuminating our Brethren, uplifting the Heart, and nourishing the Soul.

IAH the Traveller, the face of THOTH.
IAH who is Old, and then is Young again.
The Ancient Egyptians envisaged the Moon as masculine, and expressed its subtle potencies in the Divine Personages of DJEHUTI (or THOTH), KHONSOU, and the Youthful IAH, who grew from infancy, to maturity, to old age, died, and was reborn anew with the Light of the New Moon every month, in a cycle of continuous transformation.
In the EMO UK, we interpret the Myth of IAH as a reminder of the continuous cyclic influence of the Moon, cause of tides, phaes, change and alteration. One a month, as it passes through its various phases, and transits the Zodiac Signs every 28 days, and the Natural Houses every 24 hours, we have a chance to start again, to commit ourselves anew to ourselves and our health, our families, our projects, and our spiritual expansion.
Every New Moon, when IAH is a Baby, we get to start afresh; every Waxing Moon, when IAH is a Youth, we can increase and gain ground; every Full Moon, when IAH is a Man, we can renew our commitments and show gratitude for what we have; every Waning Moon, when IAH is an Elder, we can let go of suffering and anxiety until, like the Moon, and the Concealment of IAH, it vanishes away; and so on, every month, of every year of our lives. This is IAH, the Face of THOTH.

EMO UK supports those Master Masons and interested parties who wish to open a local Masonic Triangle, to kickstart working with the Order.

WHAT IS A MASONIC TRIANGLE?

A MASONIC TRIANGLE is like a Start-Up Lodge. It can be formed by as few as THREE Members. Usually a Master Mason of the EMO UK will ask us to start a Triangle in their local area, and invite two or more others to join them. The Grand Representatives will formally open the Triangle, and will be available to guide the Triangle's development. The Triangle has its own special Rituals. A Triangle will remain under formal supervision until it becomes a full Lodge.

He Whose Head Faces Backwards.
The Divine Ferryman HRAF-HAF is an important, if somewhat comical, Netjer of the Netherworld, whose Boat guides the Ka to its ultimate destination. Unlike the Greek Charon whose boat glides over the misted gloom of the Styx, the Boat of HRAF-HAF glides across the fragrant Lake of Lilies towards the Sekhet Aaru, the Shining Field of Reeds where the Blessed Souls abide with OSIRIS. HRAF-HAF, with his backwards gaze, is depicted as irrascible and curmudgeonly to his Noble Passengers, goading and insulting them during their final Journey, as if to test their self-control and moral resolve before they gain their final Liberation.
In the EMO UK, we love the Ferryman, as a wonderful archetype of the Cosmic Intelligence in the guise of a sweet but grumpy old Sailor, who barks at us with a twinkle in his eye as he guides us Home.

In the EMO UK, we perpetuate the various Rites and rituals of Egyptian Masonry and other Esoteric Traditions, as activities of a spiritual and mystical nature. For some, the use of these instituted Rites and ritual formats may seem counter-intuitive to the Spiritual Freedom and Liberation they seek; our response is, to look a little deeper - we all wish for Freedom and Empowerment, but how do we find these? Which processes do we use to develop them? Where can the missing "Keys" to this Freedom be found within us? What barriers might we face? And how can we know that we have found these "Keys", and are using them correctly? What are the true benefits? What is our ultimate purpose and direction?
The Traditions that we preserve and support each contain the concentrations of the Works of many Minds of Genius and Souls of Light, working in every nation, over thousands of years. When you you want to Learn, you enter a Library, but when you want to Train, you enter a School, and when you want to Practice, you enter a Vocation.
It's that simple.

For the EMO UK, the Great Goddess HWT-HRU is the Archetype of Beauty and Rapture, the bringer of divine ecstasies and the manifester of joys. Her Name means the House of Horus, implying a form of Womb which births forth Victory. Her worship was popular and persistent throughout the long eras of Old Egypt, and She would be depicted in a myriad forms and ways beyond Her bovine aspect, even in a sevenfold form. She was united with the Goddess AUSET as a symbol of all Goddesses, the Primal Feminine Power. More than presiding over pleasure and abundance, HWT-HRU is a Goddess of the Deep Mysteries, even those of the afterlife. She is exalted as a Goddess of the Sky and the Sun, by which She is named the Golden One, and She is also the Goddess of Sovereignty and Royal Power. In the EMO UK, every luscious scent, sweet taste, rapturous melody, soft texture and sumptuous colour is an expression of HWT-HRU.
