We were recently asked to rehome two littermates who got on a little too well, as they often do!? 🫣This is the lovely Molly aged 4, who we will tell you about first, more to follow soon about her sister Milly.

Molly went straight into one of our amazing foster homes to settle with a foster fursister to learn how life could be without her sister, and found her paws very quickly 😂

To say that she is happy is an understatement! She now lives right beside the sea and gets walked there every day; there's also lots and lots of fields around and she is loving life, as you can see. Her new Mum is the bestest ever and she has lots of new extended family to play with too.

Molly loved her old life and now loves her new life in what we think is the most perfect home.

Hi everyone – my name is Pud, I am 3 years old and I’m looking for a new home.. My old family loved me very much, but a difficult situation in the family meant they weren’t able to get me out and about as much as they would have liked.
I am currently in foster at the moment, but my LUKAG aunties have promised me they will find me my own people who will love me and help me to overcome my fears..
You see I am quite an anxious boy, especially when it comes to other dogs, but my foster mama has said I am making really good progress and I am now able to walk alongside an off lead dog (with my own lead on).
I have been let off the lead whilst out on a walk just with my foster mama, and she says my recall is really good and I don’t go far ahead without “checking in” with her. I also know my basic commands like sit, heel etc.
I will happily sleep in my crate at night and I’m not particularly food motivated!
I am very sweet with people but I get super excited and jump up a lot – this means I probably need a home with no small children and people that won’t get upset when I do this.
So what I am hoping to find is:
People who have experience of rescuing a dog like me needing time and patience so I can continue with my training and overcome my anxieties.
Ideally a dog free quiet, rural home where I am not likely to meet high numbers of other dogs whilst out on walks – whilst my fears are being worked on!
People who would be happy to work with a trainer on ongoing basis whilst I continue to get better and better.
My foster mama says I am a very sweet and loving boy and I just need a home that will be patient with me and take things really slowly with my training and keep that up – hopefully I will be able to eventually go to group classes.
If that’s you, or someone you know please get in touch with my LUKAG aunties by messaging the page..
Love and licks, Pud ###

How to Keep Your Dog Cool in Summer - Vet Approved Tips

When the temperature rises, many owners start searching for how to keep your dog cool and comfortable in hot weather. Dogs are far less efficient at regulating body temperature than humans, which means even a warm summer day can quickly become dangerous if the right precautions aren’t taken. This guide breaks down simple, vet-approved ways to help your dog stay cool and safe.

**Key Takeaways**

Prevention is key: Planning ahead for warm weather helps reduce the risk of overheating and heat-related illness in dogs.
Timing and routine matter: Walk your dog during cooler parts of the day and avoid intense exercise in peak temperatures.

Environment and hydration are essential: Always provide shade and fresh, cool water to help your dog regulate their body temperature.

Cooling support helps: Simple tools like cooling mats, paddling pools, and damp towels can make a big difference to hot weather comfort.

*We have had a lot of interest in the lovely Toby. Pending a homecheck, we have a new home lined up for him 😊*

If you have completed a register of interest form, thank you. They remain on our database and we may contact you in the future if we feel you are a good match for another dog.

My name is Toby, and I’m looking for new 🏡 I’m 7 years old, yes, I know it’s hard to believe 🩵 I have lots of energy and enthusiasm for life. I love walks, I’m used to walking with other dogs with my dog walker 🐾 I can’t be homed with cats 🐈‍⬛ because I’ve never lived with one. I am good with children but sometimes a bit too bouncy for little humans 👶, so older ones would be better. Please note, I do like to sleep on the sofa 💤

I need a new home because my owner has had to go into a care home, and I’m currently staying temporarily with a family. I’m being a very good boy, although I was a bit sad when my owner said goodbye 😢

I’m living in the North East of England and would prefer not to travel too far in the car 🚗

Can you help me please🐶I would love to be able to find a new home and bring you lots of love and fun 🩵🐾

Please fill in the register of interest form on the LUKAG website and make my bank holiday weekend, a happy one 🐾

❤️

Beautiful 1 year old Milly came to us a few weeks ago.. She had been originally bought from a wonderful breeder, but due to a change of circumstances had been passed around somewhat without her original breeder knowing! Eventually we’re relieved to say Milly found her way to us.

We’re delighted to say we were able to find her the most wonderful, patient home. Milly is not the easiest in terms of her energy levels and somewhat hyper behaviour, but she is an absolute sweetheart, and we’re so grateful that the adopters saw this and have been doing lots of training with Milly. We’ve also heard a whisper that scent work is very much on the curriculum going forward!

This is such a great story and honestly what adopting a dog via a rescue is all about - patience, dedication and lots of love ❤️🥰

What better task can you think of for us than to rehome a gorgeous Labrador on the recent Bank Holiday 🙌☺️

Morgan 🖤🐾 who was to celebrate his 2nd birthday the following day, said a sad and very emotional (for them) farewell to his pawents, with all his belongings packed, he travelled beautifully to meet his furever family, where he greeted them with big kisses and a waggy tail.

He has spent the week getting to know his new garden and home, finding the big beddy within a couple of hours 🤭

Morgan your former owners should be very proud of the manners they taught you, you are an absolute dream 🫶

Remember the gorgeous Pupper Richie 🖤🐾 who was, last week, looking for his pawfect home?

Well, we’re really thankful to you all for submitting your Registers of Interest in offering him a home, and after much soul searching, we decided on the absolute match that we had asked for, for him.

As you can see he is loving life with his new furever family and big furbrother Toby and has settled really quickly, enjoying sniffies on local walks and going to work with his Dad.

We are really grateful for the amazing support we get from you all, we are currently looking at some more registers of interest for a few more Labradors that we are getting in, so you may well hear from one of us shortly. However if you haven’t already registered, please do so as we have a wide range of ages coming in to us in the coming weeks.

Richie, you were a delight to foster and we know you are completely loved by your furever family!

This beauty is Bluebell, a 5 year old bundle of fun. She came into LUKAG after a change of circumstances for her owners made it difficult for them to give her what she needed 💔

We contacted a family who had recently completed the register of interest and they immediately said YES 🥳 We knew we’d struck gold with this new home 🏠, the family were so excited and wanted to have Bluebell in their lives as soon as possible. Luckily Esther, at , was able to fit Bluebell onto a transport run and deliver her to her lovely new family within a few days 🩷

Since she arrived at her new home Bluebell has been having so much fun 🐾She spends her days walking in the country, running around her new garden, watching her new dad working in his shed and sunbathing ☀️ When she’s had enough of the outdoors, she enjoys a cuddle on the sofa 🩷 and a bit of a snooze 💤 Bluebell’s new family adore her and we can’t wait to see where her new adventures take her 🩷🐾
