Seeing whole communities and roads swept away by the sudden and devastating flash floods in the Rasuwa region of Nepal is devastating. Our thoughts are with the victims, displaced families, and brave rescue teams on the ground.

This week, we will be making another donation to ShelterBox to provide essential shelter aid for families who have lost their homes

Did you know the Rotary Club of Chislehurst have been organising the Chislehurst Fireworks for almost 40 years!

While we are making the preparations for this years fireworks, we have been looking back over some photos from previous years. We used to spend hours building the bonfire, and every year the guy featured a suit from one of our members!

The Fireworks are coming to Chislehurst Recreation Ground on 7th November!

I know if feels strange to be talking about Fireworks when it is 30° outside, but we are already working hard on this year's event! Hopefully the grass will be green again by then!

Rotary International has been a project partner of ShelterBox since 2012. ShelterBox works to ensure that no-one is left without shelter after disaster, and most recently supported those affected by Hurricane Melissa and the earthquakes in the Philippines.

We're proud to announce that our club has been awarded a Bronze Certificate by ShelterBox for our donation of £2,360 in the year 2024/25

“We are so very grateful for the generosity and ongoing support of your Rotary club, which enables us to stay prepared for the next disaster. This proved vital following Hurricane Melissa and the earthquakes in the Philippines, where we were able to use pre-purchased stock held in our global warehouses.
Partner Clubs have a special role as fellow humanitarians and have played a vital part in over 25 years of ShelterBox disaster responses.”

It was great to spent time with the team from Chislehurst & West Kent Cricket Club earlier this week and find out all about the development of the cricket pavilion. We look forward to seeing things develop, and spending more time there in the coming months!

A huge thank you to Chislehurst Rotary Club for visiting our pavilion this week to hear about its unique heritage and history, the club today and our plans for the future.

We’re incredibly grateful for their generous donations towards our heritage project, helping us preserve this special pavilion for future generations and enable it to be enjoyed by more of the community, while creating greater opportunities for girls and women, disability cricket and wider participation.

We were so incredibly delighted to receive a giant stack of beautiful thank-you letters from the amazing students at Marjorie McClure School

Recently, we had the privilege of donating a Road Crossing teaching aid to support their road safety learning. Seeing the direct impact through their words (and some pretty fantastic artwork!) reminds us exactly why we love supporting our community.

A huge thank you to the students and teachers for taking the time to send these our way. You’ve put the biggest smiles on all of our faces!
