Happy Christmas from everyone at the forge!

our little community forge doesn't have a Bluetti, but if it did it, it would be a Christmas dream come true, allowing us to take our mobile forge out to even more places so even more ypung people can pick up a hammer and forge their own Christmas decorations next year!

Last Christmas we donated gift vouchers for our classes to an auction for a charity close to UCF's heart. A few weekends back we were delighted to welcome the winning bidder Andrew from to the forge for his class! He was a natural and made a fantastic first fire poker!

Autumn is round the corner but the gardens at Lambourne are still looking glorious! This solo sunflower is looking a bit lonely though and could so with a companion by its side! perhaps you could help with that 😉. A helping hand (or wheel) would be a game changer. Our time is definitely better spent teaching people how to make things and use a workshop safety rather than sweeping floors!

A massive thank you to everyone who made it out to our forge yesterday to make a Christmas decoration. We genuinely weren't expecting anyone to show up on a horrible stormy day, so it was a bit overwhelming to have a constant stream of families from the second we opened the doors!

I forgot to ask for photo permissions, so here's a picture of one of the Christmas mice a very very tiny person made. We hope it has a staring role on your tree for years to come.

This Sunday from 12 to 5pm we're having FREE drop I'm sessions at the forge. We'll be making Christmas decorations from copper and steel. No booking necessary, dress warmly in clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

If you've thought about booking a class but weren't sure or you've just always wondered what we get up to, pop on over to say hi and get hammering.

Pop over to Lambourne End Centre for Outdoor Education, RM4 1NB and forge a Christmas ornament or two*. We do hope some of you can make it. Who knows, if we can get it together there might even be mince pies**.

This Sunday 8 Dec from 12pm to 5pm we're opening up our doors to the community. Come and join us at Lambourne End Centre for Outdoor Education, Manor Road, RM4 1NB to forge your very own Christmas decoration. No need to book and we'll have activities suitable for all age groups (PPE will be supplied). Activities will take about 15 minutes. We're not expecting a huge crowd but if there are more people than we can safely accommodate there might be short wait, so dress warmly in clothes you don't mind getting dirty. See you Sunday!

We've scheduled new dates for our popular half day Blacksmithing Taster Session held at our forge at Lambourne End.

We have classes on 8 December and 8 February both start at 10am and finish just in time for lunch at 1pm. All of our students will be getting hand on hammering hot steel on anvil to make a beautiful fire poker.

There are a maximum of five students per course so you'll get lots of one to one guidance and learn lots of different blacksmithing techniques during your time with us.
