Chichester Lions enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at the Cloisters cafe in Chichester Cathedral to mark the Handover from last year's President, Peter Wilson, to the new President Mike Moore.

A cause we are very happy to support.

We are incredibly grateful to Chichesterlionscio for their latest donation of £5,000, bringing the total they've raised for Gift of Sight to an amazing £39,000 over the last 20 years.

These funds come from the club’s Spectacle Recycling Project, which has been collecting and sorting spectacles for 50 years, helping to support blind and visually impaired people both at home and abroad.

We are very thankful to everyone involved for their continued generosity, which directly supports vital vision research at the University of Southampton.

Chichester Lions are pleased to announce that they are working with PCaSO Prostate Cancer Support Organisation and Chichester Masonic Centre to provide a prostate PSA testing day on Saturday 6th June. The event will be in the Masonic Centre, 7 South Pallant, Chichester PO19 1SY from 10am, for all men between the ages of 40 and 80 years old.
Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer for men. 1 in every 2 men will have a problem with their prostate at some stage of their lives with 1 in 8 men going on to develop prostate cancer.
Regular testing is particularly important for men who are at higher risk, being those with family history of prostate, breast or ovarian cancer, those of African Caribbean heritage, or with the BRCA1/2 genetic condition, so it is really important to get checked.
General symptoms of problems are: -
• Frequent need to urinate, especially at night.
• Bursting to urinate
• Slow flow, difficult or painful to do so.
• Stop/start and dribbling or blood in the urine
The PSA (prostate specific antigen) test is a simple blood test, conducted by trained phlebotomists, from a vein in the arm, with the samples then analysed by an NHS hospital path lab, with results being advised a week or so later.

Santa is now busy with his deliveries and the Chichester Lions are having a well deserved rest.

We would like to offer a very big thank you to everyone who came out to meet Santa with the Carol Float and the Chichester Lions helpers.
This December we saw lots of happy children's faces and generous grown ups who donated to the Lions welfare fund.
This fund is managed and used by the Lions through out the year, to assist people in the Chichester area who are in need of help.

Last Chance to see Santa!
Santa and the Carol Float will be in Northgate Car Park on Saturday 20th December from 9am until 3pm for the last time this year.

Santa will head back to the North Pole on Saturday evening to make sure everything is in order ready for the big day.

So if you have not had the chance to see Santa so far this year, please come along to Northgate Car Park to see him and say hello to the Chichester Lions helpers.
