Today would have been Archie’s 21st birthday, and is a reminder of why this Trust exists.

Young men with ADHD, Autism and Mental Health issues in Gloucestershire are not receiving the support they need at an early enough stage. They are getting to crisis point, feeling as though they have no hope and developing ill mental health that results in them taking their own lives.

This week we have been inundated with requests for our support. Because nothing else is accessible locally. It is scandalous, under discussed and ill considered by our politicians, healthcare providers and Local Authorities across the UK.

Archie should be here today and so should many others like him.

In 2026, we must do better for those who just don’t fit the typical expectations of our society.

Share his story, his struggles and do something to make a change.

We have openings for FREE support sessions with our brilliant life coach, Tom starting in September!

THE ARCHIE MATTHEWS TRUST TO LAUNCH PARENT SUPPORT GROUP.

The Archie Matthews Trust is proud of the work we’ve done to support young men across Gloucestershire since our inception. Through our training and awareness programmes, we’ve prioritised supporting young men and helping families and communities better understand mental health and neurodivergence.
Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and one message has come through clearly: parents want a space of their own.
We’re pleased to share that a new Parent Support Group will launch at the end of June. This group will offer peer support from others with shared experiences, practical guidance, access to expert input and help navigating health, education, and care systems. Sessions will run once a month and will be held at Bishops Cleeve F.C. Kayte Lane, GL52 3PD with the first session to be held on Monday 29th June, 7pm to 8pm.
