This weekend, the TOWA will be officiating the National Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs National Tug of War Finals at Tenbury Show.
This Saturday's competition is the culmination of a number of preliminary rounds leading up to the national finals and will involve YFC clubs from England and Wales.
All of the teams will have qualified firstly through a county eliminator, then a regional final before progressing to the national final.
In the county stage of the competition, the number of teams that qualify depend on the number of members in each county. One team place in the regional eliminator is available per 600 members. At the regional stage of the competition, one team place per 3,000 members is available in the national competition.
For this year, the number of qualifiers from each YFC region are therefore as follows: Northern Area 2, Eastern Area 1, East Midlands Area 1, West Midlands Area 1, South West Area 2, South East Area 1, and Wales 2.
The weight classes that will be contested will be as follows:
Junior - GENSB competition rules
Senior Women - 560kg
Senior Men - 680kg
The above qualifying rules and weight classes are determined by the NFYFC.
