With over 40 years of experience, GDS Productions (formally Gillingham Dramatic Society), produces and performs a wide variety of Musical’s and Pantomimes, all of which are directed and performed with the utmost quality. As an extremely talented and driven company of around 60 individuals, a shared vision of creating bold, exciting, and innovative productions drives us to achieve our ultimate goal

of bringing the ‘beauty and power’ of theatre to the local communities, in and around Medway. GDS Productions produces and performs two shows a year. Our large scale musical is held annually at the Central Theatre in Chatham, and historically has also been performed at the Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone. We then also present a family entertainment, usually a pantomime, every February half term at the Brook Theatre, Chatham. Always looking for new talent to join our diverse company, we encourage any budding performers, or those with an interest in theatre production, to contact us for more information. 🧽 NEW MEMBERS WANTED! 🧽

Ever fancied getting involved in musical theatre?

As we get ready for The SpongeBob Musical (coming February 2027!), we’re looking for new members to join the GDS Productions family.

This week we’re holding two relaxed workshops where you can come along, meet the current company, find out what we’re about, and get a feel for the show before auditions take place the following week.

📍 The Howard School, Rainham

Tuesday 21st July – 8pm–10pm
Sing through some of the music from the show and meet the company.

Thursday 23rd July – 8pm–10pm
Learn the audition dance in a fun workshop, ready for next week’s auditions.

If you’d like to join GDS Productions, you’ll need to complete a company audition the following week, which consists of:
🎤 A song of your own choice
💃 The dance you’ll learn on Thursday.

We’re an adult company for performers aged 16+, and we’re always excited to welcome new faces. Whether you’ve been on stage for years or you’re thinking about giving it a go for the first time, we’d love to meet you.

Last Friday, GDS Productions had an amazing night with GoRaceNights at our fundraising event! Thanks to all those who came and support! We raised just over £400!

Simon hosted the Race Night and was brilliant. Everything ran smoothly, the betting was easy and engaging, and the races had everyone cheering for their horses and even pigs!

Such a fun atmosphere from start to finish. Highly recommend for any fundraiser!

We’re so proud to share that GDS has received a NODA Accolade of Excellence for our 2025 production of Peter Pan! 🏆

This show was a reminder of the magic theatre creates - bringing people together, sparking imagination, and letting both young and old believe in something a little bit magical again.

But remember:
