A huge well done to everyone who took part in yesterday’s Race the Plane event at Birmingham Airport – especially our incredible team from the Tara Group, who topped the leader board ✈️🚴‍♂️🏆

On the day, 20 corporate teams went head-to-head with a real passenger plane travelling from Birmingham Airport to Cancun, Mexico, collectively cycling an incredible 4,800 miles.

We are incredibly proud to share that our team raised over £7,000 in donations, contributing to a fantastic total of £80,771 raised in support of Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the vital work they do helping sick children.

A massive thank you to the organisers – Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Birmingham Airport and Mitie – for putting on such a brilliant and impactful event.

And of course, a special thanks to everyone who took part yesterday for their energy, determination and impressive fundraising efforts. What an incredible achievement all round! 👏

During the period 27 October and 7 November, our wonderful colleagues from across the Tara Group — including members of our Senior Leadership Team and Exec Board — proudly supported the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal at Aldi, Burntwood 🌺

Thanks to their time, dedication, and smiles, we helped raise an incredible £2,934.80 🙌

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and to all those who donated — together we’ve made a meaningful contribution to a cause that supports our Armed Forces community, past and present ❤️

✨ On Friday 12th September, a team of enthusiastic colleagues joined forces with our friends at Sense for our very first volunteer day at Touchbase Pears, Birmingham!

💡 The mission? To pack and prep Toy & Tech boxes – bursting with sensory toys and digital tools that spark play, learning, and communication for children with complex needs.

🔋 From replacing batteries and cleaning toys, to organising every last box, our volunteers put their hearts (and plenty of elbow grease!) into making sure each kit was ready to spread joy and connection to families across the country.

🙌 A massive shout-out to our brilliant team of volunteers – their energy, teamwork and smiles truly made the day special and worthwhile. Together, they have helped to break down barriers and make sure no one is left out of life.

🌍💙 Today is International Day of Charity – a chance to recognise the power of kindness, generosity, and community spirit.

Here at The Noel Sweeney Foundation, we are proud to support many local charities that make a real difference in people’s lives and helps strengthen communities.

Whether it’s volunteering our time, sharing skills, or making a financial donation, every act of charity – however big or small – helps create a positive, lasting change.

✨ This day serves as a powerful reminder of the impact we can have when we come together to support important causes. So, let’s continue to spread kindness and make a difference wherever we can.

We are very sorry to have to say that despite thinking the event could go ahead earlier this morning, we are having to cancel Play in the Parks at Burntwood Leisure Centre today.

As the field is very open, the winds have picked up to a point where we do not feel it would be safe to put up gazebos and the inflatable.

Sorry for any disappointment caused, but we hope to see you on Wednesday at St Anne's Church.

🌞 4 days to go until the Burntwood Wakes Festival! 🌞

All the excitement of the day can work up an appetite. As well as ensuring that the rides, entertainment and inflatables are free, we are very grateful to The Noel Sweeney Foundation for sponsoring free packed lunches for children which will be available to pick up on the day (until they run out!) from the Burntwood Town Council gazebo. 🥪🍎🧃

With huge thanks to our sponsors Lichfield District Council, M Core, The Noel Sweeney Foundation, Roadtech Cutting Services Ltd, Crown Highways and The Drill Inn for supporting the Wakes this year.
