Why didn't we hear such complaints before?
Because this law was initiated in 2021, and collective initiatives were taken by families applying after that date. Our Embassy has addressed the issue, and broader audiences have been reached with the attached Petition.
Will I face any issues in the future related to my visa, residency permit, etc., if I sign?
No, by signing this Petition, you are merely expressing your opinion in a democratic environment and requesting Government Officials to address and clarify the issue.
Why aren't citizens of other countries objecting, but you Turks are?
Citizens of other countries who believe they can act collectively and reach 10,000, and later 100,000 signatures, can also exercise their right to object. We, as Turkish citizens living in the UK, have chosen to act systematically together. We are hopeful that with the signatures of Turkish citizens living in the UK who are sensitive to the issue and their advocacy to get support of the other communities , the Petition will yield positive results.
