Why not join me at the All Saints Parish Church Summer Fayre.

Saturday 8th August 1-3pm.

I need you to come to our fayre and buy the cakes from the cake stall. Otherwise I will be forced to east the homemade cakes myself!

After you have bought your cakes you can then grab a bargain at our other stalls.

All monies raised are for the repairs and upkeep of the church.

I look forward to meeting you.

Coffee Morning at The Parish Church of All Saints.

Starting on the 4th July 10am - 12pm. This is a monthly event on the first Saturday of every month.

Why not come and join us for a coffee or tea in church. Take time to catch-up with old friends and make new friends. Take the opportunity to look around our beautiful church.

All are welcome.

Here's the rectors dog - she's been attending church since she was 6 weeks old and she is now 18 years young!

She's always liked to explore churches when they are quiet. I assume it's for contemplative prayer however, it may also be the opportunity to act as a hoover for any biscuit and cake crumbs from the Sunday Mass.

The grumpy rector (that's me!) needs your help to support the only Church of England church that's left in Castleford. Please read on and see how it won't even cost you a penny.

Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be raising free donations for The Parish Church of All Saints Castleford with easyfundraising?

There are over 8,000 retailers on board ready to make a donation including eBay, Argos, Asda, John Lewis & Partners, Halfords, ASOS, M&S and many many more. And it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds. All you need to do is:

1. Go to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/the-parish-church-of-all-saints-castleford/ and join for free.

2. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping.

3. After you’ve checked out, the retailer will make a donation to The Parish Church of All Saints Castleford at no extra cost to you whatsoever! There are no catches or hidden charges and The Parish Church of All Saints Castleford will be really grateful for your donations.

Thank you for your support.

On the 29th June 2013 I was ordained as Deacon at Wakefield Cathedral - where has the 13 years gone?

If nothing else my ordination does show that God does have a sense of humour. It's also great to see that even back then I still had a good head of hair!

How are you coping with this heatwave? Do you wish you could find some place that is cool and a place to gather your thoughts?

All Saints Parish Church can offer you both of these on a Saturday morning 10am - 11.am. Or Sunday morning from 10am. I can't promise that the Mass will be quiet as we will be singing etc but it will still be cool.

I look forward to seeing you.

It's all official, heres me as the new Rector of the Parish of Castleford.

Left to right - The Venerable Cat Thatcher Archdeacon of Pontefract, The Bishop of Wakefield, Right Reverend Malcolm Chamberlain, me and The Reverend Canon Thomas Woodhouse, Chaplain of the Kings Chapel of The Savoy (the post is by Royal Appointment).

The only question I want to ask is, what's growing out of my head?
