Cadet Cpl Archibald proudly received his Piper Badge this week, presented by Staff Sgt Smith.

Cadets who perform on parade with the Massed Bands of Pipes and Drums through the National Tri-Service Pipes and Drums programme are awarded a Piper or Drummer Badge, which they are then entitled to wear with pride.

Cadet Cpl Archibald earned his badge after performing at the prestigious Beating Retreat at Edinburgh Castle. This achievement followed a demanding week of training and rehearsals at Otterburn during the Easter Music Camp, culminating in his participation in the parade.

Congratulations to Cadet Cpl Archibald on this well-deserved recognition of his dedication, commitment, and musical achievement. 🎶👏

Over the weekend, the Dundee area delivered a Basic Cadet Air Rifle Training Day for cadets interested in taking part in air rifle shooting.

The day was a great success, with 14 cadets participating. All attendees successfully passed their Weapons Handling Test (WHT) and completed the required shoots. The training culminated in 12 cadets achieving their Basic Cadet Marksman qualification for the Battalion.

Congratulations to all the cadets and staff involved for making the day such a positive and successful event.

To our incredible Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs): THANK YOU! 💂‍♂️✨

It takes a truly special person to give up their weekends, evenings, and annual leave to inspire the next generation.

Behind every confident cadet learning fieldcraft, mastering first aid, or stepping up as a leader, there is an adult volunteer who gave up their spare time to teach them.

From the endless paperwork and late-night planning to standing out in the pouring rain on a training weekend - your dedication does not go unnoticed. You aren’t just teaching skills; you are building the leaders of tomorrow and changing lives one parade night at a time.

To the mentors, the motivators, and the backbone of the Army Cadets: we salute you.

Our senior cadets are always eager to take on new challenges, and this weekend's exercise was the ultimate opportunity to put their training, determination, and teamwork to the test.
Operating in the field, they faced a series of demanding scenarios that pushed their skills, confidence, and resilience to new levels. Every lesson learned throughout their cadet journey came into play as they worked together to overcome obstacles and complete the task.
The enemy may not have looked particularly fearsome, but appearances can be deceiving! 😄There action was non-stop, and the experience was one to remember.

Most importantly, it was a fantastic weekend filled with learning, teamwork, and plenty of fun.

Over the last weekend our Cadets headed to Barry Buddon Training Area for a weekend of fieldcraft and couldn’t have picked better weather to take on the challenge and fun that fieldcraft brings.

Fieldcraft is one of the most exciting parts of the Army Cadets, helping cadets build confidence, teamwork, and practical outdoor skills. Through activities like camouflage and concealment, observation, patrol exercises, navigation, and living in the field, cadets learn how to stay calm and think clearly in challenging situations. It’s a demanding but rewarding experience that develops resilience, leadership, and self-discipline while making training fun and adventurous.
