*2021 Update*
The Panmure Centre has been at the heart of Carnoustie since it was built in the mid 1800's. Help us ensure the centre remains a community asset for years to come. UPDATE
Wednesday June 9th 2021
Today the Carnoustie and Monifieth Men's shed were successful in their Community Asset Transfer bid and secured a lease on the centre for 25 years. This is fantastic news for the centre, th
e Men's shed and the community . The Men's shed will be looking for groups, businesses, organisation and individuals to come on board with support as well as those interested in rental space. Because of the Panmure Centre being closed by Angus Council to the general public, we had to decide what to do with the page. Rather than start a new one or delete the page and walk off quietly into the distance wiping out all of the fantastic activities, posts and history that has been captured on this page, we decided to change the name to "Pals of the Old Panny, Carnoustie and Surrounding area" So the Panmure Centre lives on!! (sort of)
Currently the centre is still home to the toddler group and pre-school for the time being until Angus Council find alternative accommodation for them. The Panmure Centre in Carnoustie provided opportunities for individuals and groups of all ages to participate in learning activities that promoted social and personal development. Activities ranged from Toddlers Groups and Youth groups to Angus Gold Forum for people of an older age. Panmure Pre-school which is for children between two and a half up to five years old still currently resides in the centre whilst it's still open providing pre-education to children in Carnoustie. The Centre offered a safe environment for a variety of activities from meetings of Community Groups to Computers for Beginners which was delivered by Angus Council Communities. These services have now been moved out of the iconic and historical building and being delivered in various other venues throughout the town. (See Communities Activities on our Cover Photo)
So now instead of promoting what was going on in the Panny, we are now going to be promoting and sharing various things relating to Carnoustie, the surrounding area and anything else we think might be of interest to our followers.
