📢 Join the New Carlisle Mencap Lived Experience Board!
We are looking for people who use Carlisle Mencap services to help shape the future of our organisation.
Do you have ideas about how Carlisle Mencap can improve? Do you want your voice to be heard? We want people with lived experience of learning disabilities to join our new Lived Experience Board.
The Board will act as a critical friend to Carlisle Mencap, helping us:
✅ Improve the quality of our services
✅ Influence future plans and new opportunities
✅ Make sure our information and communications are easy to understand
✅ Ensure the voices of people who use our services are at the heart of decision-making
We are particularly keen to hear from:
• Adults who use Carlisle Mencap services
• Young people aged 16-25 who can share their experiences and ideas about the future
🍕 Our first meeting will take place on 8 September 2026 at the Carlisle Mencap offices in Kingmoor Park, with a relaxed welcome, pizza, and the chance to meet other members and share your ideas.

We're delighted to be the chosen charity for this year's Rotary Club of Carlisle Charity Quiz Night, taking place on Friday 18th September 2026 at The Fratry, Carlisle Cathedral.

Gather your friends, family, colleagues, or fellow quiz enthusiasts and join us for an evening of fun, friendly competition, great food, and fundraising in support of Carlisle Mencap. 💛

✨ BIG ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

After lots of planning behind the scenes, we are so excited to finally share something very special…

We will be officially launching our brand new SEN inclusive dance class starting September 19th 2026💙🩷

This has been a long time coming for us at Express Dance Studios. Due to logistics, it has taken a little longer than we had hoped to announce, but we are beyond excited to welcome your amazing dancers and create a space where everyone can feel comfortable, supported, and most importantly… have fun! 🥰

Our SEN class will focus on creating a relaxed, inclusive environment with adapted teaching styles, sensory-friendly elements, and plenty of opportunities for every child to express themselves through dance 🌟

We already know this is going to be incredibly popular, so we do expect places to fill up quickly. If you would like to secure a spot or find out more information, please don’t hesitate to message us 📩

🦕💙 A huge thank you to all of our amazing dinosaurs who are taking on the Royal Oaks Challenge, visiting 11 Royal Oaks following their own barrel race, to raise money for Carlisle Mencap!
