Colder weather is quickly approaching ❄️

For some of us, that means hot chocolate, cosy evenings and comforting meals.
But for hundreds of people seeking safety who are not in receipt of government support, it can mean cold nights, loneliness, and isolation.

We are seeking donations for:
🧡 Soft furnishings - blankets and clean towels.
🧡 Warm clothing - gloves, hats, jumpers, and coats.
🧡 Unused toiletries - toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, and soap.

When Elliott* entered the UK, he was detained and suffered multiple heart problems. He is a gentleman approaching his sixties, and this situation was causing him a lot of stress and anxiety.

This week we are spotlighting one of our current service users who has been participating in Para Ice Hockey sessions with Cardiff Huskies PIHC 🏒🤙

As someone who experiences limited mobility as a result of lower limb paralysis, accessible sports like this can make a drastic difference in improving mental health and building community. 🫂

As most people seeking sanctuary are excluded from paid work, even things like joining a gym or playing football once a week aren’t possible. This is why having free and accessible sessions like these are so important to feel like part of the wider community.

Many clients often join our service with nothing aside from a backpack and the clothes on their back.
Donations like these make a real difference, helping people take the first steps towards rebuilding their lives with dignity and independence.

Last week, we were proud to support an elderly gentleman into safe accommodation after he had been sleeping in an entryway.

Nobody should have to sleep outside, and the effects can be especially detrimental for the elderly. A safe place to stay provides more than shelter - it offers dignity, security, and the opportunity to begin rebuilding.

At Home4U, we believe that housing is a human right, and we’re committed to helping people move away from homelessness and towards a safer, more stable future.

Success of the week! 🌟

Through joint advocacy and dedicated one-to-one support, we've supported one of our service users to submit a fresh asylum claim and move back into Home Office accommodation.

Having a safe place to stay can make a significant difference when navigating the asylum process. We are proud to stand alongside those we support on their journey towards stability. 💜
