Today we attended Cardiff Pride. It’s always an emotional one as we all watch the parade, and we always bring a sign saying something positive. Usually a quote from an LGBTQ+ friendly TV show, like ‘I like wine, not the label’ .

This year however, I decided to write ‘FREE MUM HUGS. I AM PROUD OF YOU’.

I wasn’t sure if anyone really wanted a hug, but as the pride parade went on, people started coming up to me with their arms open asking for a hug please. It was such an emotional experience, hugging people who needed parental support, and clearly didn’t have any. I cried, they cried. It was a lot.

And it made me realise that, as far as I can see, there isn’t a mum/mam/mom hug network in Wales. So here it is… loud and proud.

I really hope to build up a team of mums (and Dads) who are willing to come to Welsh pride events with me to show their support, through hugs!

So, if you can only just share the page, or you would like to join in! Please like and follow the page! Let’s help show kids, whatever age…. They are worthy of love. 🌈
