As we celebrate , we want to share a heartfelt thank you to our sister charity, Skills & Volunteering Cymru - SVC , and the dedicated volunteers on their Befriending project.

This project matches volunteers with adults we support across Cardiff, Rhondda Cynon Taf, and the Vale of Glamorgan based on shared hobbies and interests. Spending just a few hours a week together, plays a vital role in building confidence, fostering genuine connections, and reducing isolation.

To every volunteer who generously gives their time to bring companionship and support to our community: thank you. Your dedication makes a profound difference. 💙

Moving out of the family home is a massive step at any age, especially when it’s a home you’ve known for 50 years.

This month we are sharing the story of Justyn’s positive transition into supported living in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

From belting out 80s and 90s karaoke classics in his room and snooker at the local pub. To joining fishing trips and fully embracing daytime disco and live music, Justyn has truly embraced his new chapter.

As Justyn puts it: "I absolutely love it here."

Y mis hwn rydym yn rhannu stori trawsnewidiad cadarnhaol Justyn i fyw â chymorth yn Rhondda Cynon Taf.

O greu clasuron karaoke o'r 80au a'r 90au yn ei ystafell a snwcer yn y dafarn leol. I ymuno â theithiau pysgota a chofleidio disgo a cherddoriaeth fyw yn ystod y dydd yn llawn, mae Justyn wedi cofleidio ei bennod newydd yn wirioneddol.

Fel y dywed Justyn: "Rwy'n ei garu yma."

We are thrilled to officially launch Closing The Gap, a new 12 month pilot project designed to empower adults with disabilities through accessible technology.

We know that 'one size fits all' doesn't work when it comes to digital skills. That’s why this project focuses on the person first, not just the technology and the devices. From personalised assessments to ongoing support, we are helping the people we support in Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan, and Rhondda Cynon Taf build the confidence to stay safe and live more independently.

Closing The Gap is supported by the Welsh Government’s Digital Inclusion Wales Cynhwysiant Digidol Cymru Innovation Grant and delivered in partnership with FCHA / First Choice Housing Association .

The interest and support has been fantastic. All spots are now filled, and we can’t wait to share the journey with you!

You can read more about the project on our website, and by following this article link: https://bit.ly/4udvqVs

Rydym wrth ein bodd i lansio Closing The Gap yn swyddogol, prosiect peilot 12 mis newydd sydd wedi'i gynllunio i rymuso oedolion ag anableddau trwy dechnoleg hygyrch.

Rydym yn gwybod nad yw 'un maint i bawb' yn gweithio o ran sgiliau digidol. Dyna pam mae'r prosiect hwn yn canolbwyntio ar y person yn gyntaf, nid dim ond y dechnoleg a'r dyfeisiau. O asesiadau wedi'u personoli i gymorth parhaus, rydym yn helpu'r bobl rydyn ni'n eu cefnogi yng Nghaerdydd, Bro Morgannwg a Rhondda Cynon Taf i adeiladu'r hyder i gadw'n ddiogel a byw'n fwy annibynnol.

Mae Closing The Gap yn cael ei gefnogi gan Grant Arloesedd Digital Inclusion Wales Cynhwysiant Digidol Cymru Llywodraeth Cymru ac fe'i cyflwynir mewn partneriaeth â FCHA / First Choice Housing Association

Mae'r diddordeb a'r gefnogaeth wedi bod yn wych. Mae'r holl leoedd bellach wedi'u llenwi, ac ni allwn aros i rannu'r daith gyda chi!

“Every day is different - what you experience today might be totally different from tomorrow. Just have confidence in yourself!”

Meet Temitope, one of our amazing Support Workers at Innovate Trust.

When Temitope Adeaga joined Innovate Trust in September 2022, she brought with her a wealth of experience from working with older people and young adults.

However, it was the unique culture and deep-rooted history of the organisation that truly shaped her mission: to make a personal difference in the lives of the people she supports.

Temitope shares how great training, strong values, and a supportive team have helped her grow in confidence and purpose.

"What really made an impression on me was the Values Training. Learning about the history of Innovate Trust and Ely Hospital made me sit up and think. It’s a hard history, but it motivated me. I’m here to make an impact and do my best."

We are so proud of the impact our support workers make - not just for the people we support, but for each other too.

"Mae pob dydd yn wahanol - gallai'r hyn rydych chi'n ei brofi heddiw fod yn hollol wahanol i yfory. Cael hyder ynddo'ch hun!"

Dewch i gwrdd â Temitope, un o'n Gweithwyr Cymorth anhygoel yn Innovate Trust.

Pan ymunodd Temitope Adeaga ag Innovate Trust ym mis Medi 2022, daeth â chyfoeth o brofiad gyda hi o weithio gyda phobl hŷn ac oedolion ifanc.

Fodd bynnag, diwylliant unigryw a hanes dwfn y sefydliad a luniodd ei chenhadaeth mewn gwirionedd: gwneud gwahaniaeth personol ym mywydau'r bobl y mae'n eu cefnogi.

Mae Temitope yn rhannu sut mae hyfforddiant gwych, gwerthoedd cryf, a thîm cefnogol wedi ei helpu i dyfu mewn hyder a phwrpas.

"Yr hyn a wnaeth argraff arnaf oedd yr Hyfforddiant Gwerthoedd. Roedd dysgu am hanes Innovate Trust ac Ysbyty Trelái yn gwneud i mi eistedd i fyny a meddwl. Mae'n hanes anodd, ond fe wnaeth fy ysgogi. Rydw i yma i gael effaith a gwneud fy ngorau."

Rydym mor falch o'r effaith y mae ein gweithwyr cymorth yn ei chael - nid yn unig i'r bobl rydyn ni'n eu cefnogi, ond i'n gilydd hefyd.

For , we are looking at this year’s theme, and Our Power, Our Planet. It’s a reminder that when we work together, our efforts can lead to real change.

Recently, participants from our One Planet and Sustain Ability projects visited two local sites that are changing how South Wales thinks about waste and energy.

We spent time at the Viridor Cardiff Energy Recovery Facility and Cardiff Council 's Lamby Way Solar Farm to see how Cardiff is tackling the climate challenge.

Viridor is where 95% of South Wales residual waste is taken away from landfill where it previously would have ended up, and instead used to generate electricity to the National grid - enough for 99,000 households. We also saw how waste is used to create sources of green energy

Lamby Way Solar Farm is built on a former landfill site which now holds 38,000 solar panels. These generate green energy for a just under 3000 homes in Cardiff.

Visits like these are so important for our projects. It's great for us all to see first hand how infrastructure and community effort come together to protect the environment. Cardiff’s Council's project (same name, different project!) is Cardiff's big plan to tackle the climate emergency and become carbon‑neutral by 2030.

By understanding where our energy comes from and how our waste is managed, we can all feel more connected to the world around us and the role we play in its future.

Happy Earth Day from everyone at Innovate Trust.

Ar gyfer Diwrnod y Ddaear 2026, rydym yn edrych ar thema eleni, Ein Pŵer, Ein Planed. Mae'n atgoffa, pan fyddwn yn gweithio gyda'n gilydd, gall ein hymdrechion arwain at newid go iawn.

Yn ddiweddar, ymwelodd cyfranogwyr o'n prosiectau One Planet a Sustain Ability â dau safle lleol sy'n newid sut mae De Cymru yn meddwl am wastraff ac ynni.

Fe wnaethom dreulio amser yng Nghyfleuster Adfer Ynni Viridor Caerdydd a Cardiff Council Fferm Solar Lamby Way i weld sut mae Caerdydd yn mynd i'r afael â'r her hinsawdd.

Viridor yw lle mae 95% o wastraff gweddilliol De Cymru yn cael ei gymryd i ffwrdd o safleoedd tirlenwi lle byddai wedi dod i ben yn flaenorol, ac yn lle hynny yn cael ei ddefnyddio i gynhyrchu trydan i'r grid Cenedlaethol - digon ar gyfer 99,000 o aelwydydd. Gwelsom hefyd sut mae gwastraff yn cael ei ddefnyddio i greu ffynonellau ynni gwyrdd

Mae Fferm Solar Lamby Way wedi'i hadeiladu ar hen safle tirlenwi sydd bellach yn dal 38,000 o baneli solar. Mae'r rhain yn cynhyrchu ynni gwyrdd ar gyfer ychydig o dan 3000 o gartrefi yng Nghaerdydd.

Mae ymweliadau fel y rhain mor bwysig i'n prosiectau. Mae'n wych i ni i gyd weld yn uniongyrchol sut mae seilwaith ac ymdrech gymunedol yn dod at ei gilydd i ddiogelu'r amgylchedd. Prosiect Un Blaned Cyngor Caerdydd (yr un enw, prosiect gwahanol!) yw cynllun mawr Caerdydd i fynd i'r afael â'r argyfwng hinsawdd a dod yn garbon niwtral erbyn 2030.

Trwy ddeall o ble mae ein hegni yn dod a sut mae ein gwastraff yn cael ei reoli, gallwn i gyd deimlo'n fwy cysylltiedig â'r byd o'n cwmpas a'r rôl rydyn ni'n ei chwarae yn ei ddyfodol.
