Green Squirrel Supporting you to create a future you feel good about, for the people, places, and planet you love.

We inspire and support everyone to create a future they feel good about, for the people, places, and planet they love. Green Squirrel was founded in 2012 and became a social enterprise in 2018. From our beginnings as two friends teaching green skills in Cardiff’s coffee shops, we’ve established a thriving community resilience hub and become a leading voice in Cardiff and South Wales for the power of communities to take powerful and just action on the climate and nature crisis.

Could we ask a bit of a favour? We're really trying to grow our email newsletter as it give us a chance to share more with you than increasingly challenging social platforms like facebook allow. If you're not signed up yet please consider joining our mailing list. We send out a monthly update and it's a great way to hear about our news, events, and opportunities first as well as finding out what green community activities are happening around Cardiff and south Wales.

Every month we hold an open kitchen where everyone is invited to cook and eat together - would you like to join us this Friday, May 29th? Whether you want to make new friends, try new recipes, take a break from working from home or simply enjoy good food in good company - we'd love to see you there. If you've got a busy day and can only come for lunch then that's no problem - food is normally ready at about 12:30pm. Kids are very welcome.

It's completely free to take part, although if you'd like to make a donation to help cover the cost of ingredients that would be lovely. Remember to bring a tupperware to take home leftovers!

It's helpful if you can register (but not essential) - the link is in the comments below.

If you can't make it we'd still be really REALLY grateful if you could pass the details to someone who might be interested - could you take a moment to share this post?

Please join us in saying a HUGE thank you and showing some love for the wonderful volunteer team who keep Railway Gardens running. This lovely lot help run activities, look after the site, support comms and admin and SO much more, and it is an absolutely joy to get to work with them. The amount of kindness, talent, and energy among this group is incredible.

Last week we came together with some of our volunteers for our annual summer social, where we shared a curry and took part in a beautiful signing session with the amazing Amy of More Than Music Cymru / Mwy Na Miwsig Cymru. It was an honour to celebrate our whole volunteer community - for those of you who couldn't be there in person, we missed you.

This year, thanks to Room to Reward we were also able to recognise the incredible contribution of three volunteers in particular: Sara S, Liz C, and Sara W. Thank you for everything you do.

Join Inner Work Cardiff on a journey to explore how spirituality and community can help build a hopeful future for Cardiff and the world. This will be a shared day of creative activities, rituals, listening, and discussion led by three committed and experienced activists and facilitators from Buddhist & Christian faiths.

You’ll leave with a clearer idea of what inner work looks like for you in the context of the challenges facing society. And with the spark to kindle conversations about this with others.
