We have a fabulous workshop on the 22nd October :

Boy’s Mental Health: Understanding, Supporting and Promoting Positive Masculinities

How can we better understand the pressures boys face as they grow up, and what can parents do to support their mental health and wellbeing?

In this one-hour interactive webinar, Andy Caress, Mental Health Trainer with the Charlie Waller Trust, will explore how societal expectations and traditional ideas about masculinity can influence boys’ emotional wellbeing, relationships, resilience and willingness to seek help.

Our online workshops are open to all Single Parents and Carers across Wales and we welcome you to join this interactive session looking at supporting the boys in our families.

We’re finalists! 🎉💛

We’re incredibly proud to share that Single Parents Wellbeing has been shortlisted for the Health and Wellbeing Award at the 2026 for our Mental Health Manifesto – Action for Our Future project.

And this one is all about our amazing young people. 💛

Over its four-year lifetime, Action for Our Future delivered more than 320 events and over 2,400 engagements with young people, creating opportunities for young people growing up in single parent families to connect, share their experiences and have their voices heard.

They haven’t just taken part – they’ve helped shape it. From creating artwork celebrating different family set-ups to spending six months co-designing and helping run our Summit, their voices have been at the heart of the project.

Because every young person deserves to feel heard, valued, represented and never alone.

A huge thank you to every young person, family, volunteer and member of our team who has been part of it.

Roll on the Welsh Charity Awards! 🤞🎉

As our new project 'What Does My Family Look Like?' gathers momentum we have been looking at the labels we do and don't associate with as Single Parents and we really want to hear your thoughts!

Have you heard of the term Parallel parenting? Linear parenting?
Would you consider yourself as a high-conflict co-parent?
Are you a solo parent by choice?
What sort of blended family are you in?

We'd love to know what terms you use to describe your family or terms you hear and are curious about.
Let us know in the comments below

NEW PODCAST!

In this episode, Talia speaks with Dr Nicole Burchett from Single Parents Wellbeing and Dr Michaela James from Swansea University. As our 4 year funded project working with children and young people from single parent households comes to an end, we discuss our final learnings, legacy pieces and how important it was to evaluate throughout. “Capturing micro moments that add up to monumental moments” has helped to build the whole picture and reinforce the message that young people from single parent families need compassion, empathy and safe spaces.

We are grateful to everyone that played a part in the MHM project and for every young person that contributed, attended and enjoyed the events, trainings and workshops.
