A huge well done to the whole Ely Cathedral team for an amazing live Choral Evensong on Radio 3 this afternoon. Do listen back on BBC Sounds if you missed it! 🎶

Following a great weekend singing in Selje, the choir moved on to Nordfjordeid on Monday for a short concert at the Betania Prayer House followed by evensong in the local church. Much fun was had learning about Viking life, viewing a replica longboat and dressing up at the Sagastad Viking Center.

Tuesday brought the start of the trip south, with a stop at the Christmas Shop in Skei for a mini concert and the chance to spend some pocket money. Then onwards to the beautiful church in Førde for a fabulous concert to another appreciative audience, with a well-deserved standing ovation!

Wednesday and on to Bergen for the last concert of the tour in the magnificent cathedral. The choir was met with another packed church, with the finale, Parry’s I was Glad, bringing the house down. What a way to finish!

A well-earned free day for everyone on Thursday exploring the beautiful city of Bergen before heading to the airport for the journey back to Ely.

Huge thanks to our hosts in Norway for making the choir feel so welcome throughout the trip. And a massive well done to the whole team for doing Ely, Ely Cathedral and King's Ely proud. Time to start planning the next tour...but perhaps after a bit of a rest!

Following a very long day travelling on Friday, has got off to a flying start for the Ely Cathedral boy choristers and lay clerks. Saturday evening saw their first concert to a packed church and appreciative audience in Selje.

It was touch and go as to whether the 'Seljumannamessa' (annual mass in honour of St Sunniva) would be able to take place on Selje Island this morning. However, despite the rain, the service went ahead as planned with everyone clad in wet weather gear. What an amazing experience and one that won't be forgotten in a hurry.

Whilst the Ely Cathedral boy choristers are preparing for their first concert in Norway this evening, a little closer to home, a group of ex choristers and chorister parents, friends and staff are preparing for a charity cricket match in aid of the tour fund!

Come and support the Ely Allsorts this afternoon as they take on Bexley (East Sussex) at Campus Field in Ely. 🏏

Today is a day for gratitude.

Thank you to our amazing stallholders at the Etheldreda Craft & Food Fair yesterday! Thank you for bringing your fabulous products, but also your good cheer and positive attitudes. Many people commented on what a lovely vibe there was.

Thank you to our incredible group of chorister parents, grandparents, former chorister parents, lay clerks, Ely Cathedral and King's Ely staff and other supporters who gave up their time to make the day a success.

And finally, thank you to everyone who visited us. We were phenomenally lucky with the weather. It was great to see so many people out and about having a lovely time in the ☀️.

Etheldreda Craft & Food Fair Day is finally here and the ☀️is set to be with us all day!

If you're looking for an entertaining family day out to finish off the half term week, come down and join us - 10am-4pm.

Set on Cross Green in the shadow of the magnificent Ely Cathedral, the fair showcases 50 amazing stalls featuring art, craft, jewellery and food & drink.

In keeping with the tradition of this country fair, you can try your luck at the tombola and take part in fair games. Or you can sit back and enjoy the amazing surroundings with something to eat and drink from the array of tempting refreshment stalls on offer.

Organised by the parents and supporters of the Ely Cathedral King's Ely boy choristers, all profits go towards sending the choir on tour to Norway in July.
