Save the Date: Armed Forces Day
Doncaster is counting down to Armed Forces Day on Saturday 27 June with celebrations planned across the city to honour the men and women of the Armed Forces, past and present.
Celebrations will get underway with a military parade in honour of serving troops, veterans, families and cadets which starts from Duke Street at 11am and makes its way through the city centre passing the Mansion House before arriving at Elmfield Park.

This year, we also warmly welcome The Nottinghamshire Band of the Royal Engineers who will lead the City Centre Parade and also deliver a performance in the park.

Neighbourhood Watch Update: Why Reporting Matters

Keeping our community safe is something we all share responsibility for — and one of the most powerful tools we have is Crime Stoppers.

Why sharing concerns matters
Passing on information about suspicious activity can make a real difference:

Early action – Small pieces of information can help prevent crimes before they happen

Stronger communities – When we look out for each other, it makes our area less attractive to criminals

Safe reporting – You can share information anonymously, without fear

But remember — report crimes immediately

If you witness or experience a crime, it’s vital to report it straight away:

Faster response from emergency services
Better evidence for investigations
Greater protection for victims and neighbours
How to report effectively
Stick to facts and details, not assumptions
Use Crime Stoppers for anonymous tips
Call 999 in an emergency or 101 for non-emergencies

Together, we make a difference
Your awareness and willingness to act help keep our neighbourhood safe. Every report — no matter how small it seems — could be the missing piece.

Stay alert. Stay safe. Look out for one another.
If you’d like more information, please contact your Neighbourhood Watch coordinator.

💙 Do you know a local community group that could benefit from extra funding?
The Co-op's Local Community Fund is helping community groups, charities and voluntary organisations make a real difference in their local areas. Since 2016, Co-op members have helped raise over £115 million for more than 39,000 community projects across the UK.

The fund supports projects that:

✅ Help people access food
✅ Improve mental wellbeing
✅ Create opportunities for young people
✅ Promote community cohesion
✅ Build sustainable futures

If your organisation is delivering a project that helps people and communities thrive, this could be a fantastic opportunity to secure funding and reach more people.

Loneliness Awareness Week is coming soon
Hosted by Marmalade Trust, Loneliness Awareness Week runs from 15-21 June. It is the world's largest campaign to inspire conversations about loneliness and promote connection activities happening across the world. Loneliness can also makes people more vulnerable to crime, so the more we can do to reach out to our neighbours the safer they will be. Find out more and sign up on their website.

Loneliness Awareness Week aims to open conversations about loneliness and reduce the stigma. Join us from 15 - 27 June 2026! Brought to you by Marmalade Trust.

We are delighted to announce the formal opening of the Neighbourhood Centre Café on Wednesday, 3rd June.

The opening ceremony will be led by a member of the Diocesan Trustees. Invited guests include members of the clergy, the local MP, local councillors, church leaders, and representatives from the various organisations that collaborate with the Neighbourhood Centre.

This event is open to everyone in the local community as well as parishioners of St. Paul’s. All are warmly welcome to join us.

The programme will begin at 11:00 AM with a formal address followed by the blessing of the premises. After the ceremony, a light buffet will be served in St. Paul’s Parish Hall. This occasion offers a wonderful opportunity to meet and connect with council members and representatives from the organisations supporting the Neighbourhood Centre.

Additionally, services and events at St. Paul’s are now available online and on YouTube for your convenience. Regular service times are 6:00 PM and 9:00 AM at St. Paul’s (both in-person and online), and 10:30 AM at Christ the King.

We look forward to welcoming you to this special occasion and to our ongoing community activities.

Neighborhood Watch Community Engagement Meeting

We invite all residents to join us for our next community engagement meeting with the police, local councillors, and council officers. This important meeting will take place on Wednesday, 3rd June, at Cantley Community Centre, starting promptly at 6:00 PM.

This is your opportunity to raise any concerns related to crime or other community issues directly with those who can make a difference. Your voice matters, and this forum is designed to help get things done for the betterment of our neighborhood.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Best regards,
Roy
