The sun shone for us this Wednesday. The flower bulbs we planted at the end of last year are showing and the birds are getting busy! It feels like Spring is just around the corner!

Thank you to the wonderful volunteers who pruned the roses and potting up the cherry trees!

We look forward to more sunny days in our new home at the bowls pavilion.

A great big THANK YOU to the team from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero for all your help in Stratford Park!

The team cleared and organised the old service yard and even had time to w**d and mulch in the Sensory Garden. The transformation is amazing!

Happy New Year from Parkside Gardening Project!
We are now open following our Winter closure.
Thank you to everyone who braved the cold and ice last week and contributed to our plan for 2026!

Our wishes for this year are to:
1. Add more colour to the garden.
2. Attract more wildlife.
3. Make the former bowling green safe and more visually pleasing.
4. Grow some tasty fruits and vegetables to share.

This week we planted lots of sweet pea seeds, so we're on our way to bringing more colour to the garden!

The sun shone for us this week, so we took the opportunity to get out into the green, cut back some overgrown ivy and continue filling the ditch around the former bowling green. Thank you to our fantastic volunteer for suggesting this activity!

The ditch filling is a continuation of a task that a wonderful team from FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) worked on, until we ran out of materials! We still need more stones and soil to fill the ditch… So if anyone has any spare, let us know!

It's a bit chilly out there! So we’re getting creative indoors, with a bit of paint and some scavenged cable reels that will become decorative plant stands. Watch this space to see the reels in full colour!

It’s been a long time since we posted here!...
PARKSIDE has a NEW HOME! We have moved to Newham Poetry House (the former bowls pavilion) in Stratford Park.
We have new growing beds that we have made into a nursery for young plants and a big open space with a lot of potential!

A BIG THANK YOU to Newham Council, Newham Poetry Group & the Detached Youth Team for the use of this space!
