To all who love walking on the beach.

The Scottish Marine Animal Stranding Scheme is the dedicated research and reporting scheme for stranded whales, dolphins, seals, marine turtles, and large sharks in Scotland.
Help them by reporting any of these animals, live or dead, you find on the beach by downloading their FREE App from the App Store or follow the link below for more information.
The App, developed by Glasgow University, is easy to use. A few questions and a photo on your phone is all that is required.

Kintyre Coastal Network seagrass project update:

Kintyre Coastal Network have taken the difficult decision to pause their seagrass restoration activities with the Scottish Marine Environment Enhancement Fund (SMEEF). KCN will continue to undertake the mapping and possible restoration of seagrass beds around the Kintyre coastline, but on a more community led basis.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of the SMEEF Seagrass Meadows Scotland partners well in their seagrass restoration journey.

During 2026 we will continue with our survey work in Torrisdale Bay but we are also exploring other ares along the Kintyre coast. If you have knowledge of any seagrass beds around Kintyre please contact us, we would love to hear from you. Kintyrecoastalnetwork.org

For all you Beachcomers, this is what we are looking for.

A big THANK YOU to those attending our viewing of Why Not Scotland last night at Carradale village hall held by KCN in association with the Kintyre Rainforest Alliance.
A thought provoking film followed by presentations by the rainforest alliance and ourselves. An interesting question and answer session all followed by a lovely spread of food and wine. Great thanks to Jane and Kirsty from KCN for making a lovely selection of food.

Just a reminder regarding tomorrow nights film screening and presentations. We hope to see you there.
