We received a lovely email from a parent and wanted to share. It's moments like this that make all the hard work worthwhile. This particular child turns up every week willing to listen, learn and lead. They have shown huge improvements in confidence and is always ready to take responsibility 🌱

We are in our last week of term!

What a fantastic term it has been with the addition of two new schools. I am delighted to announce that we will be returning to those schools again for the summer term and cannot wait to continue our work with the children!

Here is some feedback from a few children at different clubs. I am very proud of the progress and togetherness they have shown. The older children have demonstrated great leadership skills and the younger children have continued to build their resilience!

I hope you all enjoy your Easter break πŸ’šβš‘β

Our clubs provide children an environment where they can fail tasks and keep trying. We have loved seeing the progress the children have made - they keep showing a stronger mindset and thought process week after week!

Chair Stacking was one of the games we have played at this weeks clubs. It was great to see the different approaches the children used when playing. Some groups became very competitive very quickly, other groups worked as a team to figure out how they could balance all of the chairs together. We discussed the negative feelings they may feel if they knocked the chair stack down before they started and the children demonstrated great resilience when this happened...and kept happening! There was lots of smiles and laughter and I noticed they really put their energy into trying different strategies rather than trying to win the game. This is a huge part of the growth mindset approach that informs the way we run our clubs. Bring on next week!

I worry that sometimes our children are growing too old too quickly. That playing isn't 'cool' anymore and unless it's a video game or their phone they aren't interested in engaging because it doesn't give them the same level of satisfaction.

Running the club has shown me that no matter their age, kids can enjoy even the most simple of activities and tasks. Sharing laughter, working as part of a team and having to problem solve are all things that kids seem to delight in when given the chance ⭐

Find time to play with your children. Board games, puzzles, quizzes, meaningful discussions, outdoor games, drawing, painting - anything that requires focus and isn't full of distractions βš‘πŸ’šπŸ’

This kids absolutely love this one!!

A fun, competitive activity completed in teams. Simple and engaging this game can be frustrating but they all showed great determination at trying to complete it. Plenty of smiles and encouragement throughout! πŸŒŸβš‘οΈπŸ’š

In support of Children's Mental Health Week we will be exploring emotions and encouraging healthy discussions at all of our clubs this week.

We believe the younger children are able to identify and communicate how they feel, the more likely they are to ask for support in their teenage years πŸ’«πŸ’š

We are proud to support children's mental health and wellbeing at our clubs 😊

We focus on aiding children to understand and deal with challenges and obstacles. This can help prevent poor mental health and improves wellbeing πŸ’πŸ’š

Here are 3 ways you can help your child build resilience πŸ’«βš‘πŸ’š

All of our clubs set up a positive environment for children to develop resilience whilst having fun! Sometimes the most simple games can be the most rewarding. The children learn that it's not always a nice feeling to fail at something but with the right support the reward is worth working for 🌟
