A warm invitation to Borshch Time from our dear friends and regular guests, Amanda and Michael ❤️🫂

Amanda and Michael are true friends of Ukraine. From the very first day of the full-scale invasion, they have stood with us unwaveringly. They are always among the first to buy tickets to our events, they stand shoulder to shoulder with us at demonstrations, and they continuously show their support through both words and actions.

Their dedication goes far beyond attending events. They have traveled all the way to Ukraine to volunteer, help weave camouflage nets for our soldiers, and experience our beautiful country with their own eyes—despite the distance, the challenges, and the risks involved.

We are deeply grateful for their friendship, compassion, and commitment. Their support has given us hope during difficult times and inspired others to stand with Ukraine as well. Amanda and Michael lead by example, reminding us that solidarity knows no borders.

Thank you for being with us, for believing in Ukraine, and for helping us keep hope alive. We are honored to call you our friends!

Happy Vyshyvanka Day 🕊️🤍

Just look at the beautiful vyshyvankas our wonderful volunteers are wearing 😍

For Ukrainians, a vyshyvanka is so much more than embroidery — it’s a symbol of identity, resilience, and heritage. Through centuries of attempts to erase Ukrainian culture, this tradition endured, carrying stories, history, and meaning across generations.

Today, the vyshyvanka beautifully blends into modern life while remaining a powerful way to honor roots, celebrate identity, and carry history forward 🇺🇦

A big thank you to all our volunteers for sharing their photos 📸💗

On 18 May 1944, the Crimean Tatar people were forcibly deported from their homeland in Crimea by the Soviet regime under Joseph Stalin.
In this post we explain the history, the scale of the tragedy, and why it still matters today.

Every now and then, I find an experience that reminds me why I started this blogging journey in the first place. Over the years, hunting for food has led to me meeting some truly amazing people and learning about cultures I might otherwise never have explored. There is something incredibly special a...

Many people in Ukraine will celebrate Easter this Sunday. Easter in Ukraine is full of flavour, meaning, and connection 🐣✨

We’re sharing what our volunteers put into their Easter baskets — some things are the same across the whole country, while others change from region to region, telling their own local story.

From P***a to homemade treats, it’s all about tradition, community, and sharing something made with love 🤍

Join us this Saturday for Borshch Time — come taste, learn, and celebrate with us in Cambridge.
