POP Collective CIC

POP Collective CIC Our mission is simple: fearless creativity for every child.

POP Collective CIC is a Community Interest Company building inclusive, accessible performing arts opportunities for children and young people across Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire.

Behind every great community project is a team of people who believe in it.

Meet the Board of POP Collective 🩷🩵

Our board brings together experience in education, safeguarding, inclusion, wellbeing, governance and community engagement, all united by one shared belief:

Every young person deserves a place where they feel welcome, valued and able to thrive.

Together, we’re building an inclusive performing arts community for children and young people across Cambridgeshire, particularly those with SEND, anxiety or low confidence.

This is just the beginning.

Not every child finds it easy to join in.

Not every child feels like they fit in.

Not every child has found their place yet.

That’s why I created POP Collective.

A place where young people can be creative, build confidence, make friends and belong.

One of the reasons POP Collective exists is because families told us that finding genuinely inclusive activities isn’t always easy.

As the parent of an autistic young person, Matt knows this first hand.

In this video, he shares why he wishes something like POP had existed when his son was younger, and why he is passionate about helping us create opportunities where every young person feels they belong.

His words are exactly why this project matters 🩷🩵

If you’re looking for a welcoming, inclusive activity for a young person in your life, we’d love to hear from you.

Our summer workshops for ages 8-18 are now open for booking.

POP was created because not every young person feels comfortable in traditional clubs or larger group environments. Some need smaller groups, gentler encouragement and spaces where they can build confidence and feel included at their own pace.

This summer we’re launching inclusive, SEND friendly creative workshops across Cambridge and Cambourne for young people aged 8-18.

Our sessions combine drama, music, movement and creativity in welcoming environments where young people can make friends, express themselves and feel genuinely supported exactly as they are.

No auditions. No pressure. Just creativity, confidence and belonging.

We’d absolutely love to welcome you this summer.

You can find the booking link and full workshop information in the caption below. More information and booking details can be found here:

This new BBC podcast really caught our attention.

SEND in the Spotlight brings together parents, young people, teachers and experts to explore key parts of the SEND system. In the first episode, actors Kellie Bright and Anna Maxwell Martin share why they feel the term Special Educational Needs and Disabilities doesn’t always reflect that every young person has value.

It’s a discussion we know many families in Cambridgeshire are having. Language matters. It shapes how young people see themselves and how others see them.

We’d love to hear your thoughts. What wording feels right for you and your family?

You can listen now on BBC Sounds and join the conversation with the team at [email protected].

Note: Across the UK the terminology differs. Scotland uses ASN. Wales uses ALN. Northern Ireland uses the SEN register.

At POP Collective we believe every young person should feel valued, seen and supported. Let’s keep talking about how language can help make that happen 🩷🩵
