🚗 NEW BADGE ALERT! 🚗

We’re excited to announce a brand new badge coming to Beavers & Cubs…

👉 The Driving Skills Badge 👈
Beavers and Cubs will be learning essential life skills including:
• Steering control
• Parking (parallel… obviously)
• Mirror, signal, manoeuvre
• And handling “backseat driver” distractions 😅

To make this possible, we are looking for parent volunteers who would be willing to:
🚘 Bring along their car to a session
🕒 Assist with some “practical learning” in a safe, supervised environment

After walking 41,000+ steps across London playing Monopoly Run "Live", we have finally made it home!

Our Explorers spent the day racing around the capital trying to visit as many Monopoly landmarks as possible using foot, bus and tube, while also being clever about how to earn and spend their Monopoly money.

Both teams gave it their all, with Team Chunky Money finishing 4th in their game and My Little Pony taking an impressive 2nd place in theirs! 🏆

An absolutely brilliant effort from everyone – lots of laughs, a lot of steps, and some very tired feet by the end of it! 👣

A big thank you to the organisers of Monopoly Run Live and to our leaders for helping make the day possible. A fantastic adventure around London!

Get yourself down to the Community Centre from 2pm today for the Scouts Mammoth Jumble Sale. Admission 50p. Lots of amazing toys, shoes, books, DVD's, clothes, kitchen items, bric-a-brac to re-home!

Our Explorers have made it to London! Ready for the day to play Monopoly Run "Live". Commuting round the capital via Tube, Bus & foot! Good luck to all the other groups and may the best team win!! 🏆💰🎩

Our Jumble Sale Collection is tonight!

Our young people will be out around the village collecting donations from 6:30pm. Please note that we are unable to accept large items.

If you’re leaving donations out for collection, please make sure they are clearly labelled and visible from the kirb side so our collectors can easily spot them.

If you’re not in the village or would prefer to drop items off yourself, you can do so from 7:00pm at the Community Centre.

A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated and volunteered their time to help.

All funds raised will go straight back into the group to support activities, equipment and experiences for our young people.

Happy Shrove Tuesday! 🥞✨
On Friday, our Explorers popped over to help the Cubs with their pancake celebrations — and what a team effort it was!

The Cubs smashed it making the batter, and our Explorers stepped up to the challenge of cooking and flipping pancakes like pros (no pancake casualties… we think 👀).

Amazing effort from everyone involved — resulting in lots of very full, very happy Cubs!

📢 Our Jumble Sale Dates for 2026!

Just a reminder of our Jumble Sale dates for this year are on Saturday 7th March & Saturday 19th September.

All proceeds go into the group supporting our sections with activities, equipment and camps.. thank you for your support and we can't wait to see you soon!!

🎉 HAPPY NEW YEAR – AND ALL THE BEST FOR 2026! 🎉

What a year we’ve had! Jam-packed with new, fun adventures while developing and learning new skills along the way.

Across the group we’ve taken part in 6 camps this year – with some members enjoying their very first time away from home.

Along the way we’ve:
🔥 Learnt how to pluck pheasants
🔥 Cooked cakes (and even a full KFC!) on open fires
🏹 Tested our skills at archery
🚣 Kayaked down the River Cam
👟 Helped at the Cambridge Half Marathon
🚑 Learnt life-saving skills from paramedics
🏎️ Raced around in go-karts
🌊 Plunged into the sea off the coast of Southampton
🌳 Slept in hammocks
👻 Faced our fears at Hinchingbrooke Horror House
🏃‍♂️Tried our hands t a bit of Lacrosse
🎖️ Paid our respects at the war memorial
🌍 Had members selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree, Poland 2027
🏆 And were honoured with the Silver Acorn Award

Not sure how we can top that! None of this would be possible without the dedication and willingness of our leadership team and amazing volunteers. Without you, we couldn’t give our young people the true Skills for Life that Scouting offers.

Here’s to an even bigger and better year ahead! 💛❤️

What an amazing weekend our Explorers have had! Despite the minibus issues, thanks to some brilliant parent support we still made it to camp — thank you!

We had some Festive games, Played White Elephant & Guess the Baby Explorer, Went on a Christmas night hike, and had a full Christmas dinner and we even cooked the chickens on an open fire! 🥘🔥A truly Christmassy camp!

From all of us at Explorers, we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2026! 🎄
