ALTE - Association of Language Testers in Europe ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe)

ALTE (Association of Language testers in Europe) is a not-for-profit INGO with Participatory Status in the Council of Europe, and an NGO with Special Consultative Status with the United Nations, whose Full Members consist of institutions within Europe, which produce examinations and certification for language learners as one of their primary activities.

⏰ Registration for the ALTE 64th Conference Day in Lisbon closes on Monday 26th October!

The conference takes place on Friday 13th November and will be hosted by CAPLE (University of Lisbon).

This conference is open to all those interested in the language testing field and will take place at the Pavilhão de Portugal as a face to face event.

💶 Registration is €50 and payment is required in full at the time of registration.

This week ALTE welcomed participants from Canada, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Italy, Finland, the USA, Ireland and Spain to our Item Writing with Artificial Intelligence course!

This practical online course gives language testing professionals hands-on experience designing high-quality test tasks and items for CEFR-aligned assessments. Participants are exploring the assessment of receptive and productive skills, analysing authentic test materials, and developing their own items through guided workshops and peer discussion.

Generative AI is proving a valuable companion for item writing. We’re looking at its pros and cons, safeguarding your data, and advanced prompting.
