Campus Children's Holidays

Campus Children's Holidays Campus Children’s Holidays exists to provide respite from difficult home lives for children ages six to thirteen. Campus is run entirely by volunteers.

Every year we take over 200 children away for an activity break at no cost to their family—the largest such provision on Merseyside. Our children are referred to us by Liverpool Social Services or Barnados because they would not otherwise receive a holiday. For some of our kids it is their first taste of the countryside; for others their first view of the sea, their first chance to try canoeing, c

limbing or ice skating. Our aim is that for all the children Campus provides a safe, caring environment in which children can enjoy themselves with peers and supportive adults, free from the troubles of their home life. Equally, our holidays offer parents and carers some much needed respite from the strain of raising children on a low income or under difficult circumstances. Our children build lasting friendships both with their peers and with our volunteer helpers. On completing their final summer on Campus aged thirteen, we offer some children who show leadership potential the chance to come back as a Young Helper to work with the younger children. In recent years, some former Campus kids have even gone on to coordinate the very projects they attended as children, or to become trustees of the charity. We rely on the generosity of our donors, supporters and our volunteer helpers in order to survive. Thank you for visiting our website. We hope that you will take some time to look around to discover more about Campus. Please get in touch if you are interested in getting involved in any way. We are always looking out for new volunteers, fundraisers, and other supporters. Complaints should be sent to [email protected]
