A lovely reflection from Cambridge Museums on being involved in the Holiday Lunch Programme. Providing free hot lunches to those for whom the school holidays are challenging is vital, but they also provide a wonderful example of how food, community and culture can come together to support wellbeing, inclusion, and sustainability across Cambridge ๐Ÿ’š

I'm so pleased we now are able to publish this report. Cambridge Sustainable Food worked with Taproot to support a youth-led exploration of food, health and community in North Cambridge, building on the 2024 Cambridge City Youth Survey, which found that 47% of young people saw affordable, nutritious food as their main health concern. This project brought together young people aged 13 to 18, professionals, and community organisations in workshops and peer research from October 2025 to March 2026, generating shared learning, youth-led insights and ideas for future action. Many thanks goes to the amazing young people from North Cambridge who participated and shaped ideas for this.

We were delighted to serve a special Easter holiday lunch to more than 130 attendees! ๐ŸŒธโœจ

Our menu featured a hearty vegetable Mexican chilli with tortilla chips and rice, followed by a delicious custard pudding with seasonal fruits, and some fun Easter egg nests to celebrate the occasion ๐Ÿฃ

A huge thank you to our amazing CSF volunteers and the Meadows staff - this wouldnโ€™t have been possible without your hard work, teamwork, and dedication. ๐Ÿ’›

Moments like these truly show the power of community, sharing food, and bringing people together. ๐Ÿ™Œ
