Join us at our next gathering!

This interactive gathering is an opportunity to meet like-minded people, explore the values, relationships and experiences that shape our understanding of humanism, and discover the connections we share. Whether you're new to humanism or have been involved for years, you'll be very welcome.

We'll begin by watching a short Humanist UK film featuring new Humanists UK President, Janet Ellis, using it as a starting point to explore what humanism means in our own lives. Through shared exploration and connection with others, we'll discover common ground, learn from one another's experiences, and explore the theme "All We Have Is Each Other."

Refreshments will be provided, with plenty of time afterwards for informal conversation.

We look forward to welcoming you to the modern, air-conditioned Mill Road Community Centre for another Cam Humanists gathering.

Parking is available off nearby Gwydir Street.

Lynne Harrison mini biography
After a career in science, science communication and education, I trained as a humanist celebrant to offer naming and funeral services and then joined the Chaplaincy at Addenbrooke's Hospital as a pastoral care volunteer in 2019.

Caroline Wallace mini biography
I love living in Cambridge, and I have been here for more than 35 years. I have had humanist values all my life, although I only found out about humanism about five years ago. I have been a Humanists UK school speaker for just over three years, and I will shortly be undertaking my fiftieth school visit.

Our Co-coordinator Emily Enoch attended The Festival of Humanism 2026 last weekend and had this to say:

"I thoroughly enjoyed my second Humanists UK conference and came away feeling inspired, informed and more connected to the wider humanist community.

It was wonderful to meet so many like-minded people, make new friends and strengthen connections with humanists from across the UK. My personal highlights included the Humanists Heritage walk around Bournemouth in glorious weather, learning about innovative online communities for non-religious people, and hearing thought-provoking talks on topics ranging from the commercialisation of space and its implications for humanity to how we can live meaningful lives.

Thank you to everyone who organised such an engaging and welcoming event."

Join us in building the Cam Humanists community.

We are developing a Humanists UK Local Group in the Cambridge area.

If that’s something you might be interested in being part of, whether as an occasional attender or an avid committee member, you are warmly invited to our next early-stage meeting, at Mill Road Community Centre. The meeting will be another opportunity to meet other interested people, talk about what you might want from such a group and how we can take it forward from here.

We will be building on the ideas and suggestions from our May meeting, and we’d love to keep the momentum going. All are welcome, whether or not you have joined us previously.

The evening will be hosted by the new Cam Humanists Committee volunteers, with support from the Humanists UK Local Groups staff team.

Refreshments will be provided.

Whether you’re new to humanism or already involved, your ideas and enthusiasm will make a real difference to the group. So with a warm welcome to all, let’s build Cam Humanists together.
