After a very successful first month of April, life at the pub is continuing. New management has settled in and the building has welcomed them with open arms. Of course that does not mean that the building isn't always in need of attention. It's old and needs TLC on a rolling basis.

So this month we are refurbishing the potwash, cold store and corridor. All to ensure that service is tip-top. We start the month of May with the May Bank Holiday over the course of 1-4th of May. The weather will hopefully support sunny days in the garden. With a special Bank Holiday 'blow-out' on May 4th.

Then, on May 10 and 11 , the potwash area is being prepared for the floors to be renewed. We will fit stainless steel panels to the wall for easy wipe-down and protection. This work will happen on the Sunday evening and all day on Monday so that normal service hours are not affected.

Then, the week after that, on May 17/18, the floors will go in to make sure that everything is fully op-to-spec. The current floors have some cracks that need to be repaired.

All this work is being supported by local trades and volunteers. Flooring, Builders, Plumbers, Residenst of Horningsea - You know who you are! The CIC thanks everyone who is working hard and making time in their schedules. It is very much appreciated.

Good news! The Plough and Fleece is open again. We welcome Lucy and Adam to the pub. They have been working tirelessly this week with the help of family and friends to get the place ready.
A big congratulations from Horningsea CIC for getting ready in such a short time with minimal disruption.
We are looking forward to this new chapter in the long history of our pub!

Whilst the kitchen and bars are being redecorated in the The Plough and Fleece, work is happening in the garden. Some nice new tables for a (hopefully) sunny Easter weekend!

The The Plough and Fleece is under new management and the CIC are working to get the place ready for opening on Good Friday. First order of business, a kitchen makeover. Painting today and new equipment coming tomorrow.
The front and back bars have also been painted.

Today SouthCambs magazine fell in the letterbox. Business rates are changing and the pub is affected. We don’t fully know yet what the rates will be.

The council is reviewing the rateable value of the Plough and Fleece (and other businesses) but has not told the tenants what the rates will be.
