𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗻𝘀𝘆𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗴
Below is the declaration that was officially ratified by Full Council on Monday, June 15th. I prepared this based on research of previous declarations and proclamations between our various twin towns.

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 Caln Township, 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗻𝘀𝘆𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗰𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟱𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀, the year 2026 marks the Semi quincentennial of the United States of America, a milestone of profound historical significance and an enduring legacy of democracy;
𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀, Calne Town Council recognises the deep cultural and historical ties between our communities, rooted in shared values of liberty, civic service, and community pride;
𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀, the Town of Calne and the Township of Caln, though separated by the Atlantic, remain united by name, spirit, and a common commitment to fostering international goodwill;
𝗕𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹, on behalf of the people of Calne, extends heartfelt congratulations to the residents of Caln Township and to the American people on this momentous anniversary;
𝗕𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗱 that we celebrate the enduring friendship between our two communities, reaffirming our dedication to cultural exchange, mutual respect, and the bonds of kinship;
𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 - honouring our shared history and embracing a future of hope, kindness, and partnership.

Here is the full proclamation of friendship from Calne to Caln Township for the celebration of America250:

Oyez, Oyez, Oyez!

Let it be known that in this year of 2026, as the United States marks its great Semi quincentennial, the Town of Calne sends warm congratulations across the ocean to our friends in Caln Township, Pennsylvania.

Though an ocean divides us, we are united in name, in spirit, and in our shared devotion to community, service, and liberty.

Today we celebrate the friendship between our two towns and reaffirm our commitment to goodwill, respect, and cultural exchange.

May this bond endure, honouring our shared past and embracing a future of kindness and partnership.

God bless Calne, and God bless Caln. And God save the King.

With the 250th anniversary of the United States approaching on July 4th, I am honoured to share this message of friendship with our counterparts in Caln Township, Pennsylvania during their celebrations between the 18-21 June 2026.

On Monday, June 15th, the Full Council of Calne Town Council officially ratified this declaration that follows. This document has been signed by Cllr Tim Havenith, Town Mayor 2026-27 and Acting Proper Officer, Mark Edwards

From trying out the Ninja Park to attending Mayor Making, it was an absolute pleasure to host our friends from Eningen unter Achalm last month! 🇬🇧🇩🇪

🌍 A Wonderful International Visit at KGA!

KGA was delighted to host visitors from Calne’s twin town, Eningen, last week.

Members of both towns’ twinning committees enjoyed a tour of the school led by our fantastic student leaders, followed by delicious pastries and coffee in the Sixth Form Centre ☕🥐.

It was a brilliant opportunity to share and learn more about each town’s educational and cultural settings - an enriching experience for staff, students, and visitors alike.

We look forward to welcoming similar visits in the future! ✨
