๐ŸŒ A Wonderful International Visit at KGA!

KGA was delighted to host visitors from Calneโ€™s twin town, Eningen, last week.

Members of both townsโ€™ twinning committees enjoyed a tour of the school led by our fantastic student leaders, followed by delicious pastries and coffee in the Sixth Form Centre โ˜•๐Ÿฅ.

It was a brilliant opportunity to share and learn more about each townโ€™s educational and cultural settings - an enriching experience for staff, students, and visitors alike.

We look forward to welcoming similar visits in the future! โœจ

Another fantastic day exploring Calne with our friends from Eningen.

Many thanks to Kingsbury Green Academy for a tour around their wonderful school. Also to both Calne Heritage Centre and Atwell-Wilson Motor Museum for opening especially for tours of their collections.

For lunch we visited Fay's Bistro, who kindly allowed us to reserve a table, providing the twinning delegation a chance to sample their fantastic menu.

There is a chance to meet the Eningen unter Achalm twinners at Mayor Making this evening, which begins at 7pm, Calne Town Hall.

Many thanks to Bowood House & Gardens for the complimentary tickets for our twinning delegation.

It is only through the generosity of local companies and organisations that such visits can continue.

Some of the group also visited the Hilmarton scarecrow trail, where Eningen Burgermeister Eric undertook an experimental operation!

This morning the twinners spent time exploring the new Ninja play area at the Recreation Ground, before learning about the Calne Men's Shed - what they make, how they work, and how the Shed supports its members with issues such as loneliness. The Men's Shed concept was completely new to them.

They were also very taken with the new Box Up sports-equipment vending machine, and ended up playing a lively game of KanJam (or at least a close approximation of it).

Afterwards, they retired to Bank House for lunch and a lovely display of town memorabilia and history, before heading out to explore Calne's shops.

Yesterday evening we were fortunate to hear from Kate Howard and Gillian Money-Kyrle, who shared an inspiring update on the campaign to save The Ivy Inn at Heddington on behalf of Friends of The Ivy.

We were also pleased to be joined by several councillors, whose presence and support were much appreciated.

Many thanks to town hall caretaker, Guy, for supporting the event throughout.
