Well done teams. They braved the weather, understanding that whilst they had hot showers, heated houses and comfy beds to go home to after, those they were serving were no so fortunate. 😔😢

On Sunday we had the privilege of hosting the Lions International 105SW Autumn Forum in Callington Town Hall.

Clubs from all over the SW getting together to learn, collaborate and educate. A great day was had by all and as the 8-18th October is our Vision Global Services week, half the room were put to the test of navigating their way around the venue wearing blindfolds with the other half acting as a guide, providing a great deal of thought and understanding into the lives of those living with a visual impairment.

Callington Lions organised a raffle for the day and with the proceeds have now sponsored a second Guide Dogs UK Guide Dog, so we welcomed Nutmeg to Join Hetty as our sponsored dogs to follow their journeys.

And then, because we like to go the extra mile, we organised for a visit from our very special guests Ziggy and Peggy, along with their trainers Tania and Sandra, to come and meet everyone and answer questions. A great way to end the day.

No guest goes home empty paw’ed though and we felt it was only apt that along with their bags of goodies that Ziggy and Peggy had Lions of their own.

Thank you to everyone who came along and to our guests of the day.

We are so pleased that the winners of this competition that we hosted with Callington Town Council can finally see their paintings up. They may look small but painting these was no easy job. They are huge!
