Calderdale Dementia Friendly Community starting off Dementia Action Week with Dementia Has Got Talent show sponsored by Bluebird Care Calderdale, Bradford & South Leeds

It's Dementia Action Week and we helped kick things off with the Dementia Has Got Talent (show) in Halifax. A full house enjoyed people living Dementia showcasing their talents including singing, dancing the Tango, playing the guitar and piano and reading poetry. Thank you to everyone who supported the event and the volunteers who help put it on. We enjoyed spending the afternoon with you!

Our 2026 FREE ENTRY event is this Saturday 16th May.
2pm-5pm Pellon Social Club, Halifax, HX2 0HF. Please come along and show support, bring the people you care for that are affected by dementia. It will be a good enjoyable day for all!

CDFC Dementia Has Got Talent Show : As told by CDFC representatives

Representatives tell us their views in supporting, encouraging, and enabling the Calderdale Dementia Friendly Community supportive talent showcase for anyone affected in any way by dementia.

The opportunities this event brings can really uplift a persons life, and enlighten others with awareness about dementia and the person behind the dementia.

The now established event offers an afternoon of music, singing, dancing and other entertaining performances. Some glimpses of this seen within this video.

For the future events the aim is always to try and have the date being the Saturday at either the beginning or the end of 'Dementia Action Week'.

The event is sponsored (and co-hosted) by Bluebird Care and is a CultureDale legacy event.

This Assiduous Productions video shows displays of some of the performances and activities from the event, in promoting future year's events.
