he world ahead. That’s why we offer two complementary provisions:

💻 Wayfinders Portal: Accessible, skill based learning online from anywhere, helping young people develop problem-solving, teamwork, and real-world skills.

🌲 Wayfinders Outpost: Immersive Forest School based in the Isle of Wight where students connect with nature, explore challenges, and build autonomy. Whether online or onsite, our approach is future-focused, innovative, and designed to inspire curious minds. We’re here to help young people grow and be ready for the world, equipping them with the skills and confidence they need for life beyond the classroom. 🌏

Our Learning Community is opening this September, offering a nurturing alternative for families seeking a more personalised approach to learning.

📚 Primary Group maximum of 8 learners
📚 Secondary Group maximum of 8 learners

✅ Calming outdoor setting with opportunities to learn and connect with nature
✅ Focus on wellbeing, confidence, belonging, and personal growth

🌿 Calm after the storm 🌿

Not sure that's a thing 🤷‍♂️ but after yesterday's rain, today's woodland session couldn't have felt more different.

A wonderfully relaxed first family session as part of ? with , with families enjoying a day of creativity, exploration and connection outdoors.

From designing and racing boats to den building, whittling and campfire cooking, there were plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and enjoy time together in nature.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us today.

There are still 3 more free events remaining as part of the programme! Including two sessions specifically designed for teenagers, booking link in comments.

Our first session where the plan went out the window 😅

It was the first family day, set up was unexpectedly longer and changing weather kept us on our toes (including soaking some of the prepared resources)

That said huge thank you to all the families who still came along. We ended up with over 20 people across the day in the end!

If there's one way to sum up the day its definitely the second picture! 📷

This session definitely gave me plenty of lessons moving forward with the setup and prep.

There's been exciting changes to the space over half term… and it’s really starting to feel like something special.🌳🔥

We’ve spent the break getting the site ready for summer term, including our first family sessions taking place this week.🦋

Everyday the site progresses more and can't wait to see what it looks like in September ready for the launch of our 2 day a week learning community🥳

We’ll be sharing more soon about the learning community and what we are bringing to the young people on the Isle of Wight soon. In the meantime you can have a look and see what we are building here:

Spot the wildlife 🔎

Would you believe this was all from parking up the car and walking to our woodland base 🤩

Some feedback from families we have had so far is they love that young people can slow down without screens and explore at their own pace and this is just the beginning 🌳

Next Wednesday is the launch of our new Family Forest session , where we will get to identify the butterflies that call our beautiful site home 🦋

And we're doing things a little differently, families can drop in during the session at the time that works for them and enjoy activities at the pace they choose 💚

What a wonderful first half term we’ve had at Wayfinders.

It’s been such a privilege to welcome children and families into our learning community here on the Isle of Wight, and to begin building something calm, creative and connected together.

From hands-on learning to time outdoors and shared exploration, it’s been a term full of curiosity, confidence-building and meaningful moments of learning.

We’re now getting ready to welcome everyone back next week as we begin our next sessions, and we’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new families who are joining us.

If you’ve been thinking about a different approach to learning for your child, whether through our 2-day learning community or our wider home education and forest school sessions, we’d love to hear from you.
