💜 What a fantastic Make May Purple morning at our Fairwater Communication and Peer Support Service! 💜
It was wonderful to welcome so many stroke survivors, carers, volunteers, and community partners together to raise awareness and celebrate the power of connection after stroke.
A huge thank you to the amazing Stroke of Harmony Choir from Cardiff for their uplifting performance the room was filled with smiles, music, and community spirit. 🎶 Special thanks to Dionne Woods, who runs both the Cardiff Stroke Social Club and the choir, for her continued dedication and support for stroke survivors across the community.
We were also delighted to welcome members of Cardiff Stroke Social Club, who shared more about the incredible work they are doing to support stroke survivors and their exciting future plans.
It was lovely to also have Esther Goodhew, Speech & Language Therapist, and Sarah, Ward Manager from the Heath, there supporting the morning and showing their encouragement for the stroke community.
The morning included a purple quiz, raffle, cake sale, and beautiful handmade shower fizzers and bath salts created by group members over recent weeks. It was inspiring to see everyone come together with such creativity, positivity, and support for one another.
Special thanks to our Stroke Recovery Service Coordinators, Steph, Natalie, and Tracey, whose support helped make the event such a success.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended, shared their experiences, and helped raise awareness of life after stroke. Every conversation helps people feel less alone and reminds us of the importance of peer support and community connection. 💜
💜 Am fore gwych iawn Make May Purple yn ein Gwasanaeth Cyfathrebu a Chymorth Cymheiriaid yn y Tyllgoed! 💜
Roedd yn hyfryd croesawu cynifer o oroeswyr strôc, gofalwyr, gwirfoddolwyr a phartneriaid cymunedol ynghyd i godi ymwybyddiaeth a dathlu grym cysylltiad ar ôl strôc.
Diolch yn fawr i Gôr Stroke of Harmony o Gaerdydd am eu perfformiad ysbrydoledig roedd yr ystafell yn llawn gwên, cerddoriaeth ac ysbryd cymunedol. 🎶 Diolch arbennig i Dionne Woods, sy’n rhedeg Clwb Cymdeithasol Strôc Caerdydd a’r côr, am ei hymroddiad a’i chefnogaeth barhaus i oroeswyr strôc ledled y gymuned.
Roeddem hefyd yn falch iawn o groesawu aelodau Clwb Cymdeithasol Strôc Caerdydd, a rannodd fwy am y gwaith anhygoel maent yn ei wneud i gefnogi goroeswyr strôc ar draws y gymuned a’u cynlluniau cyffrous ar gyfer y dyfodol.
Roedd hefyd yn braf cael Esther Goodhew, Therapydd Lleferydd ac Iaith, a Sarah, Rheolwr Ward o’r Mynydd Bychan, yno yn cefnogi’r bore ac yn dangos eu cefnogaeth i’r gymuned strôc.
Roedd y bore yn cynnwys cwis porffor, raffl, gwerthiant cacennau, a ffiswyr cawod a halen bath hardd wedi’u gwneud â llaw gan aelodau’r grŵp dros yr wythnosau diwethaf. Roedd yn ysbrydoledig gweld pawb yn dod at ei gilydd gyda chymaint o greadigrwydd, positifrwydd a chefnogaeth i’w gilydd.
Diolch arbennig i’n Cydlynwyr Gwasanaeth Adfer Strôc, Steph, Natalie a Tracey, am eu cefnogaeth wrth helpu i wneud y digwyddiad yn gymaint o lwyddiant.
Yn bwysicaf oll, diolch i bawb a fynychodd, a rannodd eu profiadau, ac a helpodd i godi ymwybyddiaeth o fywyd ar ôl strôc. Mae pob sgwrs yn helpu pobl i deimlo’n llai unig ac yn ein hatgoffa o bwysigrwydd cymorth cymheiriaid a chysylltiad cymunedol. 💜
