A huge thank you to every single volunteer who turned up to the Semtex work party. It was a fantastic success!

The new ramp is something we’ve felt was needed for a long time to improve access to the lake, and thanks to everyone’s hard work and dedication, it’s finally become a reality. You all worked your socks off, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

There are still a few finishing touches to complete before the grand opening, so keep an eye out for updates on when it will be ready for full use.

A special shout-out also goes to one of our members, Cory, for generously donating a large amount of gravel to help begin filling in the area damaged by last year’s fire. After the work party, the lads even managed to find the time and energy to spread it around.

Thank you again to everyone who gave up their time and put in the effort. Your support, teamwork, and commitment to improving the fishery are hugely appreciated.

We’re pleased to inform all members that Caerphilly Castle Moat will reopen for fishing from Monday morning at sunrise.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding while the water has been closed.

Please ensure all members continue to follow CDAA rules, respect the venue, and fish responsibly.

Dont forget, with warm weather, keep your mats wet and on show with carp care ready. Change the water in your buckets regular to keep it cool..

Bailiffs will be around, so be exspected to be approached, so say hello and ask for advice about the water, they dont bite 😜

Hi all,

🚨🚨This is for the juniors that were already successful and were confirmed, for the postponed comp on the 10th of May🚨🚨

The rescheduled date has now been confirmed for Sunday 26th July 2026.

I understand this may not be suitable for everyone, and I’m sorry if that is the case, but unfortunately this is the only date I am able to do.

Please can you confirm your attendance with me by emailing [email protected] no later than 30th June 2026. Confirmation not recived by then, will confirm your non attendance..

The club have CLOSED SEMTEX to all angling until further notice as the resident Carp have started to spawn.

Our Bailiff team will closely monitor the situation, and as soon as the fish have finished spawning we will post a notice to advise our members on when fishing will resume.

Please respect both the fish and the Club’s decision during this period

CASTLE MOAT CLOSURE - ALL MEMBERS

The club have CLOSED the castle moat to all angling until further notice as the resident Carp have started to spawn.

SEMTEX WORK PARTY RE-SCHEDULED

We’ve decided to re-schedule our work party for this weekend (Saturday the 23rd) to Sunday the 31st of May. During this work party we will be looking to create a barrow ramp on the road bank. If you are available we are looking for as many volunteers as possible to come and help out. To book onto the work party the link is attached below, refreshments will be served half way through the work party.

SEMTEX WORK PARTY SATURDAY 23RD OF MAY

Hi everyone

We have scheduled a work party for the 23rd of this month to complete the barrow ramp access on roadbank. This ramp will allow anglers to get a barrow around every peg on the lake, except the 3 between the tower and the drain. Refreshments will be served halfway through the work party.

Note - pegs from the tower down to the shallows peg will be closed for the duration of this work party.
