Firstly apologies for the lack of updates, we’ve been incredibly busy over the last few months.

We are now into the final stages with the property in Buxton so fingers crossed we’ll be receiving some keys 🔑 in the next few weeks 🏡

We have our agreement in place with HPBC so we’re getting closer to being able to accept referrals 🤞🏻

Preparation for the next family day on Remembrance Sunday are well underway, bigger and better than last years 🇬🇧

Also a potential website redesign incoming 🔜

12 days of Christmas - Christmas Eve🎄

Day 3 🎅 - Building Bridges CIC is a real source of pride for our community. Their mission is simple but powerful: to provide a safe, structured and therapeutic supported living environment for ex Armed Forces veterans facing homelessness, mental health challenges including PTSD, and issues linked to drug or alcohol misuse.

Returning to civilian life can be incredibly tough. Organisations like this can be a lifeline – offering stability, understanding and a genuine second chance.

Huge credit to the team for the work they’re doing, and congratulations on securing funding to open here in Buxton. Top stuff, lads ❤️

Christmas has come early for Building Bridges 🎅🏻

We’re delighted to announce we have secured a property in Buxton 🏠 We are hoping to open the doors in Feb/March 2026!

We can’t thank people enough that have helped us along the way, it wouldn’t have all been possible without the generosity and support of our community 🫶🏻

That being said, we continue to be on the lookout for continuous support whether that be in form of volunteering, donations or anything you feel may be of benefit to our project.

We now also have a referral form so if you know of any Veterans who may benefit from our services, please reach out to us for a form.

❤️

We recently had Matt from BBC Derby come and chat with us about our Building Bridges project 🫶🏻

What a day! 🥳 in total we raised a staggering £3,355 plus a £10,000 donation from High Peak Borough Council which has made the last few years of behind the scenes work so worthwhile.

We just want to finish by saying a huge thank you to everyone who made our family day such a success - from the businesses who donated prizes, to the helpers, entertainers, caterers, and all of you who came along to support.

It meant so much seeing the community come together, full of laughter, good food, and great company. ❤️
Events like this only happen because of the people behind them - and we are genuinely grateful to every single one of you.

Until next year! 🙏💙

Thank you to J.Kemp Butchers the brilliant caterers who kept everyone well fed and happy!

From start to finish, the food was spot on - you helped keep the day running smoothly and full of smiles (and full stomachs 😄).
It’s very much appreciated

Thank you Evie Peyton for her performance we were so impressed and we would urge people to go give her a look

Hannah Banana Parties who came in last minute, what a breath of fresh air, she really is like a wizard with the kids and we would recommend her for any one thinking of child's entertainment

A massive thank you to Thom Green, a Veteran who not only performed live but allowed us the use of all his equipment on the day. Ensuring the day ran smooth in the background he was on hand at a minutes notice. He went above and beyond before the day and on the day and we were extremely grateful to have him with us

We will be excited to collaborate on next years with Tom and we ask anyone that follows us to go give his socials a like and follow

🎤🎸

A huge shout-out to everyone who helped out on the day - from setting up, organising raffle prizes, running stalls, selling tickets, to clearing up at the end.

Sue at Buxworth Club , for first of all letting us utilise the club but also for all of your hard work with us to help get everything organised. Buxworth War Memorial Club doors are always open to Veterans and everyone is welcome so go show them some support

You all went above and beyond, and we are honestly so grateful for your time and efforts ❤️

We would both like to say a massive thank you to all the amazing local businesses who donated raffle and auction prizes for our family day on Remembrance Sunday!
Your generosity made such a big difference - every single prize helped us raise funds and kept the energy going all day.
We couldn’t have done it without the support of our amazing community 💙
