The Pride of Bury Awards
In 2015 The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity launched a very special event, to celebrate Bury’s unsung Heroes in Josh’s legacy. Nominations are generated by the public, an independent panel then selects the finalists in each category. The finalists are then put to the public vote to decide a winner. These awards are truly ‘by the people for the people.’
Nominations can
be submitted for 14 categories:

5. Our Emergency Services Hero
6. Our Fundraising
7. Our Sporting Hero
8. Our Teaching Hero
9. Our Caring Hero
10. Our Volunteer Hero
11. Our Professional Caring Hero
12. Our Little Fundraising Hero
13. Our Family Hero
14. The Joshua Wilson SuperJosh Ultimate Hero Award
The Pride of Bury Awards are to be held in memory and celebration of Joshua Wilson aka SuperJosh who was himself a Bury Hero. The awards are designed to recognise the contribution made by other Heroes living, working & volunteering in the Borough of Bury. The categories the reflect the contribution made by people in everyday life, and both highlight and celebrate how they make Bury rightfully proud. Dawn Fidler, Founder of The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity said, “There are many people who live and work in Bury, whose contributions to life, to teaching, to living and to caring, go unthanked and unrecognised.” “Joshua was an ordinary boy who coped with all that life dealt him in an extraordinary way. We want these Awards to celebrate the contributions and achievements of others in a similar way as Josh was celebrated. It is amazing to be able to do this in his memory.”
