Positive Steps with WLBSE

With only a week to go to Relay for Life it had to be done.
Put on my Relay T shirt and cap and went and did a lap of the field.
Hadn't noticed before, there is a slight slope in the middle but unfortunately can't call it a hill.
Area is hard underfoot, don't think much rain is forecast in the next 10 days, so correct footwear will be essential.
Few rough patches, and certainly will need cutting, but looking good overall.
My loop around the field was about 0.1 miles so 10 laps to do a mile - wonder how many miles I'll walk over the weekend as it will include setting up and taking down our area as well as general walking about.
Was cooler out there today, with a bit of a breeze - good walking weather.

Only a month to go now so must concentrate on this event.
We now have the list of "themed laps" and I have my items spread out across the floor so can go as follows :-
Bubble lap - my two guns don't work so have ordered a couple
Team Spirit - will have banners for wlbse! and positive steps
Check your bits - underwear on outside if anyone wants to do it
Christmas - have santa suit, inf xmas tree, jumpers
YMCA - have Indian head dress - need hard hat etc
Day at Zoo - have inf monkey and croc plus animal masks
Grease - have Danny wig and pink wig - can have pink hoodie
Cartoon Characters - have hero masks but need ideas
Halloween - have witches hats, cloak and cruella outfit
Glow in dark - have couple necklaces - gloves, sticks
Dog walking - have soft toy dogs
Fun in Sun - giant sunglasses, hats, water pistols - inf guitars and microphones - can be used in grease as well
Healthy living - have inflatable banana but nothing else

Don't wish to go overboard and spend too much ( some will hire costumes etc ) but just enough to join in - any ideas or props you have please advise here.

Think most of the gremlins are out of the registration routine now so will be pushing to get others registered.
We now have a group registration to collect team donations, as this wasn't set up automatically , as in previous years.

The problem with registration has been fixed so all those wishing to participate can now register into the team - best to use this link - https://in.justgiving.events/relay-for-life-bury-st-edmunds-2024?currentPage=select-competition - but you will need the password on the second page, which either email or direct message me ( or ask me on a Wednesday or Friday walk ).
This will also set up a Just giving page for you, which you can use if you wish to raise funds, but i would ask that you go into that page and set up a target etc so it goes through onto team page - any problems you can contact me.

There is a major problem with registration at the moment - if you try and register you'll probably get to a screen that says it will set up your just giving page but when you click "next" it just sits there.
Have been trying to register someone for a few days but now have confirmation that it is a known problem and they will put it right when they can - not really helpful when it's the time of the year to push for new team members.
Anyway - it's that day again - New Years Eve - have fun if you are going somewhere and Happy New Year to all

I have created this page as a communications method for the team ( as members are added ) and to enable us to join other groups and spread the message.
Next week marks the start of the new year and I will be on a drive to increase team numbers and start fund raising.
If anyone sees a good car boot sale in their area ( maybe indoor to start with ) then let us know - my garage has a load of items to get rid of at any price we can get, and my small bedroom has boxes of Relay items for sale.
