The Burnside Parent Council is a group representing parent views, working in partnership with pupils, the headteacher and local authority to achieve the best for children attending Burnside Primary School in Rutherglen, Glasgow. Amongst its roles, the Burnside Parent Council:
• supports the school in its work with pupils
• represents the views of all parents
• encourages links between the school a

nd the wider community
• reports back to all the parents in the school
• organises extra-curricular activities and after-school events
• organises fundraising events for the greater good of the school and all its pupils

Do you enjoy a bit of gardening? 👩🏼‍🌾

Can you spare an hour over lunchtime on Wednesdays?

Our NATURE RANGERS CLUB is run in cooperation with GROW73 but we need some extra helpers 🙋🏼‍♂️

We love running this club and the kids love it too. We can only run these with the help of parents, grandparents and carers so the more help we get the better 🤜🏼🤛🏼

If it’s every week or alternating weeks, every little bit of help counts 🙌🏼

🍃 OUR OUTDOOR CLASSROOM IS HERE! 🍃

We are so happy to share that our new outdoor classroom was installed in the upper playground last week and Ms McDonald says it's being very well used so far 😁

The Parent Council was very happy to fund almost half the cost of this and hopefully the children have many happy years using it 👧🏼👦🏼

Thank you for all your fundraising efforts to enhance our pupil experience over their time at Primary School 🙏🏼

It's all about DISCO 💃 🕺

We have 3 discos per year to help raise funds for enhancing the children's school experience 🏫

They are always greatly supported and the kids have so much fun at them! 🎶

We thought it would help if you had a heads-up so you can put the dates into your diary so you have them noted ✍️

Nearer the time we will confirm times and age group as well as asking for some volunteers to help 😃

Our Primary 1 pupils join in the February and June discos and have a daytime party instead of the evening one in October 👻

One of our amazing P3 pupils ran her very own Garden Party a few weeks ago and donated all her taking to Burnside Parent Council 🙌🏼

What a very kind and caring pupil we have here, we're so proud of her 💙

This kicks-off our fundraising for 2026/2027 term and we have lots more coming! 🗓

All money raised goes straight into the school to enhance and improved our pupils' experiences 👧🏼🧒🏼
